why are you confusing MAR 1 (SEAD missile) and MAA 1 B (SRAAM)?. Pakistan only inducted MAR 1 not MAR 1b. As for MAA 1 A and B ( infrared ASRAAM) A MODEL is fully delievered and B model deliever is ongoing with delievery started in late 2011 and some time ago PAF C-130 also spotted in brazil

Well since a poster mentioned that betweem 2015-2020 all indian fighters will be upgraded to advance thales helmets with built in vision based targeting systems that would be a major upgrade.

While the short term advantage we have with F16 fighter helmets in long run we do need to have a locally made helmets for JF17 thunders , to close the technological gap

But I don't see an intergated "Fire" and targeting system

Its just a heads on display of flight data , its not same as a Helmet where you target and engage an oppoents from visually moving your helmet ..

Am I wrong to assume that Pakistani Helmets are far more advance then Indian purchase

In Dog fight , a pakistani pilot can simply move his head with out needing to turn the whole plane to lock on an enemy jet and launch a missile

Indian Helmets:
Just display targeting information in helmet
Just a situational awareness improvement
I don't see abilty by pilot to lock on a target via helmet and engage the target

so guys here is the question these helmets r used to target AC off bore but if we dont have aim 9x than what is there use other tha more situnational awareness?

Even F-22s are not yet integrated with AIM-9X and would be done by 2017 a contract has been awarded to LM. So Yes AIM-9M is there for PAF with the capability.

Please stop playing games!! War is serious business! Before you get the Su-30 or SU 35s in your JHMCS, you would have been roasted with their BVR weapons like the K-100/R-100 and Novator's R-172S-1 AAM-L available with a booster pack to extend its considerable range performance to 400 km.

In my knowledge, IAF's Su-30MKI, MiG-29,MiG-21 Bison,Hal Tejas have helmet mounted sights. Mirages are getting them.

Mirage 2000s,SEPECAT Jaguars are getting HMDS,their upgrades are going own (deliveries have begun).
IN MiG-29ks have HMDS too.

Soon we will be an all HMDS IAF,with HMDS on all our frontline aircrafts.
