There's a saying, "you're entitled to your own opinion, not to your own facts." Let the facts about the JF-17 speak for themselves, and forget the rest, "critique" and blind jazba alike. Besides, our trainer can carry active radar-guided BVRAAM and PGBsOur Arab friends on their forums do not seem to be very keen on this deal.
One of the comments described JF-17 as "A trainer with a flawed Russian engine."
WOW! Thunder with IFR! Haven't seen it in other pictures and demonstration videos from Qatar demo. I wonder if its fake?
From this angle the two look like they're distant relatives.
'fhufo a beta' ......From this angle the two look like they're distant relatives.
Tell Me Doesn't it look like an IFR what an illusion...That Thunder's tail (vertical stabilator)
The Qatari mirages don't have an IFR probe either? I thought they came in as a standardTell Me Doesn't it look like an IFR what an illusion...
Not that a comparison would be serious, but look at the JF-17 and M2K, there are some resemblances (not that they mean anything):

Aren't Alpha Jets dual seaters?Qatar may replace its alpha jets with JF17 in the FGA role. Let's see what happens.
Sir Alpha Jets are dual seated trainer aircraft and Qatar operates only 6 of them while JF-17 is a proper fighter aircraft and comparing it with Alpha jets total unfair. Why they replace Alpha jets with JF-17 which is a fighter aircraft with maximum speed of 1.8 Mach and currently didn't have dual seat version.Qatar may replace its alpha jets with JF17 in the FGA role. Let's see what happens.
