I think PAF will scour for more F-16s, if those are not coming, then perhaps J-10 with IRSTs....and finally get a participation in the J-31 fighter program........who gets the first true stealth aircraft, will change the dynamics in the region.

That would be catching up with Su30 which we already have

No man, procuring F-15s would be playing catch up with IAF's awesome Mig21.

Bhai jaan ! Let's be reasonable . You said F16 is more than capable than Sukoi MKI and Rafale . It's not like I have this so this is better.

well i think Pakistan should request for the remaining F-16's block 52's , and also try to buy 18 more from some western Country and Mlued them .. that will give them some breathing space , and yeah of course , put some dollars in Long Range SAMS

PAF has been anticipating this deal since long.......even they got tired of waiting, so we ordered AH-1Zs and WZ10s to play with.

PAF needs to boost the SAM coverage, and look into more medium/heavy types.

New push for jets comes at a time when Pakistan is in talks with China for j10 and jf17 . India will keep buying to keep the difference between our af at the same level .more over you don't have to worry as we are focusing on China

- 125 for PAF compared to around 370 for IAF. An extra 36 Rafale would not really alter the balance of power that radically.

What the PAF should focus on is saving it's funds to start buying the 5th generation J-31, when China is ready to deliver to PAF from 2020 onwards. This fighter, even if equipped with the WS-13A engine, would totally outclass anything India would possess and a few squadrons would terrify the IAF.

Go for more Jf17 and J10B if possible. If possible F15 E . I don't think US will supple with F15 in fear of Chinese intruding into its technology. Via Pakistan .

For all those who are going crazy that what PAF should do after IAF's Rafale deal kindly hold your horses.

PAF is a professional air force and they know that they can't match IAF plane to plane that is why they have a doctrine in which they can utilize their limited resources and PAF also purchase stuff knowing those limitations.

One thing which many are underestimating about PAF is that they are upgrading their air defense capabilities i.e. LY-80E SAMS and JF-17 block-3 with AESA Radar and other advance goodies, those will form important part of system of PAF which is designed to fight as one whole system not as single system.

PAF may not need to go for any new jet immediately if JF-17 block-3 is coming with potent advance avionics.

Yes - the JF-17 when mated with a ramjet BVRAAM and AWACs can take on a Rafale.

People are talking like the Rafale is F-22 when it is just another 4th generation fighter that means Pakistan's AWACs can see it coming from hundreds of kms away.

36 is under first tranche, the follow on order would be under MMRCA.
