Option for new PAF BVR

.
. .
The Future of BVRs will be changing in the future as the new 5th Gen A/C will be the part of Airforces.. Good info on these Missiles

India tested k-77 which is new Russian missile with it's own aesa seeker and range much greater than our amraam. India also bought Barak-8 Israeli missiles.

British short range missile also ordered by IAF. They are even buying more su-30s for next coming aerial attack and plan. Pakistan must integrate pl-15 on at least block 2. they already tested couple of missiles.during Trump Khan meeting, imran Khan should ask Trump to provide either amraam c-7 or amraam d series or Amraam-X.we need new missiles for our f-16s and JF17s fleet from all over the world now.

Nothing comes close to AIM-120C-5/7/D AMRAAM in today''s age.

There are a few classified characteristics of this missile which make it lethal AF. First and foremost, it has its own jamming capability. which doesn't let the RWR of target to function. Furthermore in the stage 3/final stage of flight. It reaches speeds in excess of Mach 6/7/8. Impossible to evade from those distances.

Hmm but IAF MKIs Dodged 5 AIM120-C5s as per IAF.

We have far better BVR missiles than our neighbors.
we have AIM120C5 & SD-10
some reports also suggest that PAF's jets are equipped with R-Darter BVR.

In future
JF-17bk3 with PL-15, and AZM project with PL-21
and Turkish BVRs make PAF more deadly

PL-15s will grape(Yes grape) IAF fighters, you won't receive launch warning until pitbull is activated in which case it's far too late.

Not sure if the Turkish missile Is a viable option for A2A as the range is limited. Pl15 is the only solution for that and is most likely already being tested on blk3s. However we should procure the turkish system as an SAM platform. In large numbers.

Both China and Pakistan will be actively exploring a means of countering the Meteor as we all type, now that it has been introduced to South Asia.

This may well end up being a derivative of the PL-21 as the answer.

Note, the introduction of the Rafale, does complicate things for India, as her air dominance fighters have for now been neutralised by the AMRAAM and SD10s, but they are not buying enough of the Rafale to take on that role. The Rafale started out life as a mud-mover/striker aircraft and it works very well for that role, and its Air-Air role was secondary(one of the reasons why the French went their own way). Lets see how India will deploy the platform. In reality, it may follow the same usage as the Mirages, ie silver bullet strike force, given the small size of the fleet.

In my opinion get PL 15 and we also use both western and eastern BVR so we have the experience use that experience and develop your own may be 200 KM range BVR

The sam is 40km , air to air much more due to altitude , aircraft ke
Bhai.
Why are we looking hither and thither for SAMs andAAMs. We need to stick to one family for fleet wide commonality. This will then allow us to manufacture them in house. Once we start herethere maybe elements that we might need to borrow from her and there to make our product a aturdy one. We already have the US and the Chinese family of missiles. Rathwr than increasing the supply base and maiing your invwntory more complicated it is better to stick to these 2 suppliers. Even if we went Turkey way whatare we gaining? The US will not allow us to integrate Turkish weaponry on the 16s so what do we gain.

The ranges of air to air missiles are used as a tool to advertise them well by manufacturers because both platform (the platform that firing missile and the target that missile catching) are moving and range factor changes in acc to the positions/directions of the platforms and the speed of the platform that missile is launched. If a country introduce a range of A-A missile, you should ask yourself whether It is "No escape zone" range or max range of missile. In max. range, There is no guarantee that missile will kill/catch the target because target can easily escape from the effective zone of the missile but If you put the target inside the NEZ range, It will be a dead target. The mission computers of aircrafts automatically calculate whether the target is inside the NEZ range or not. Pilots just decide to fire the missile in correct time.

  • Above Rmax: Pilot should not launch missile, no chance of success.
  • Between Rmax and Rmax2: Reasonable chance of successfully intercepting the target.
  • Between Rmax2 and Rmin2: No escape zone, almost 100% chance of successfully intercepting the target.
  • Between Rmin2 and Rmin: Reasonable chance of successfully intercepting the target.
  • Below Rmin: Missile will not launch due to the safety of the pilot being threatened.

For exm, Meteor has a 150km max range but 60+km is the NEZ range. In this aspect, Turkish BVR has 65km NEZ range and It is not introduced what is the max. range.

One possible gain is to go for a 4x2 configuration for the JF-17. 4 PL-15s and 2 Turkish WVR-BVR hybrid.
They would also be useful for the Mirage upgrade that is underway and noted by airomerix.
I thought bhai you said that Pak was developing a SAM system. What happened to that? Would appreciate some news on it.
