Operation Bluestar-What could have been done?

That calls for police action & that was what happened. The cases were registered including against senior politicians. The army is called in only if there is threat to the state by armed militants, not those restricting themselves to crowbars & pickaxes. If there is rioting & police can't handle it, the army has always been called in & their presence invariably leads to cessation of rioting.

The point is majority of you supported Babri Mosque attack by Saffronies whereas objected to occupation of Golden Temple by Bhindarwale and Co. Though both must have been objected.

Anyway, back to the topic.

Indira gandhi and her govt's actions led to golden temple sieg and truning bhindarwale into an extreme player.

Sikhs were NOT militants but Indira gandhi supported their act of militancy against the other groups.

if they had tackled the simple case of giving priority to language and religious issues from the begining , it wont have boiled down to golden temple

Majority did not support any such thing. In any case, can't you see the difference between a dispute about a particular structure & waging war against a state? It was not like all Brindanwale wanted was just the control of the Golden temple. Btw, all rioters were cleared out of the Babri Masjid area & that area remains out of bounds even today.

It's far more complex than that & India certainly has done a better job of managing its language/religious issues than most.

1. This op shows how ruthless India can be to protect the Brahminic hegemony over the throne of Delhi. Indira had created Bhindranwelle for political gain in Punjab, but this backfired terribly. The sword arm of India, the Khalsa, will never be a sword again. A free Khalistanis a matter of time. During the hay days of Khalistan insurgency E Punjab had become a buffer between India and Pakistan. We will see that again eventually.

2. Udham Singh had waited 19 years to take revenge. Sikhs have produced the likes of Kartar Singh and Bhagat Singh. This is a nation which sacrificed lives again and again for honor and freedom. Remember how Indira was gunned down? A Sikh youth was caught by security agencies hiding for about a week without food and water inside a bush near the Indira samadhi. He had a revolver with which he planned to kill Rajiv who was due to offer his respects at the samadhi. The Sikh boy was totally disheveled and suffering from malnutrition and dehydration. The security detail had come to scan the area. This is the nation the Brahminic oligarchy has upset. Or recollect Sukhdev Singh Sukha and Harjinder Singh Jinda who killed Gen Vaidya in Pune.

3. It was a totally stupid action which Gen Sinha had refused to undertake. Vaidya and Sundarji were rewarded for their compliance with Indira. IA used tanks and field guns firing HE and Smoke. This was a totally brute action where other methods could have worked. Perhaps it was Indira's ego at what she felt was Bhidranwalle's betrayal. (Her son was similarly killed by LTTE created by India; jaisa karo'ge oisa bharo'ge.)

4. A lot of Sikh youth were shot dead in cold blood at the temple after the op was over. 10 Guards, the point Bn who had suffered high casualty might have done this. The paratroopers were also involved in cold blooded killings. It is said Bhindranwalle and Gen Sabegh Singh were discovered alive in dazed state in a basement. They were killed promptly.Smoke and incessant tear gas shells had taken their toll. The Gen had recently suffered a heart attack. The families never saw an autopsy report because none was done to hush up the misdeed.

5. Btw, there were some BD youth trapped in the basement. These people used (and still do) the hospitality the gurdowaras in their travel to/from Pakistan without travel docus.

NO wrong comparison for there was NO such Indira Gandhi using those extremists for own political agenda in case of Masjid Al-Harm incident.

Indira Gandhi's using Bhindarwale against akalis for own political causes led to golden temple sorry episode.

The use of Golden temple by bhindarwale and Co is NOT supported by any here, but their trapping there strategy and getting them killed by Indian govt is debated and debatable also the way the sieg was already planned and oked.

The issue was the shoe got bigger than the wearer.

As for the 'use' of the Golden Temple, he was a terrorist. Looking for an armed revolt against the Indian state. Once you reach that state of affairs, armed intervention by the military to smoke him out, from wherever he resides is acceptable.

That single operation was a major blow to the separatist movement in India. Today, it survives outside India. Not in India.

.
I agree Sikhs are loyal to India, It's natural because they are Indians. But I don't know how do you make the comparison. Any reasoning or evidence of that.

Dint see them badmouthing the other whereas the others do resort to questioning the loyalities of the former when they call for justice for 84 genocide.

Secondly turned them into terrorists or rather their activities took a violent term after getting more power. Can you please justify, how they turned them into terrorists. They tried to make alliance with him no doubt due to political agenda, but how they turned them into terrorist, I fail to understand. It'll be good if you provide some links.

using him against Nirankaris first and then closing eyes to his and his fellows' "criminal" act , releasing him on bail as hero.

you can take into account what followed next.

Yes, yes, Very ruthless. Which is why all you can do is limited to this forum. Yaaaaaaawwwn..............!

Bolded part grossly incorrect.

For the second part, plz don't make a statement just like that, without any evidence, else it becomes an unimportant blank statement.

you may not agree with what i say due to my nationality but as far i had studied, Jarnail Singh was NEVER fighting for any separate Sikh country or for that matter there was NO khalistan movement .

It all started with fight for language and religion.

You should try writing fiction. Any idea on the statistics regarding 'Brahminic hegemony' or you talking through you know where?

2. Udham Singh had waited 19 years to take revenge. Sikhs have produced the likes of Kartar Singh and Bhagat Singh. This is a nation which sacrificed lives again and again for honor and freedom. Again talking through you know where. Do you know how many battalions of the Sikh regiments are loyal to the State of India? Kite flying and history wishing is a normal practice.

3. It was a totally stupid action which Gen Sinha had refused to undertake. Vaidya and Sundarji were rewarded for their compliance with Indira. IA used tanks and field guns firing HE and Smoke. Yes. It was brutal. And that was required. It crushed the head of the insurgency and dealt it a death blow. Ever been to Punjab recently? Or still writing fiction?

4. A lot of Sikh youth were shot dead in cold blood at the temple after the op was over. 10 Guards, the point Bn who had suffered high casualty might have done this. A lot of Sikh militants were shot dead in cold blood. The action of KPS Gill was what was required and he executed it brilliantly. Good that they executed those 2. Else, the Indian justice system will still be talking about appeal, next appeal, next next appea. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

5. Btw, there were some BD youth trapped in the basement. These people used (and still do) the hospitality the gurdowaras in their travel to/from Pakistan without travel docus.

Aah yes. There are enough Bangladeshis everywhere in India. Nothing unexpected.

Where did u see bad mouthing others. And even if few have done, by that u'll judge 90 million Hindus. So your First claim is down!

What followed next he went against state..... and for the sake of the country, he had to be stopped, simple!!

Which book were you reading? The fight for language or religion would never have been the cause, because of the linguistic policy followed by Nehru.

1. Golden Temple

2. Gujarat

3. Babri Mosque

4. Orrissa

all are big and all are result of uour better job of managing religious and langustic issues.

They wanted a separate autonomous region, when India is a secular country.

I thought the the thread is purely technical, ie. the how Op Bluestar could have been avoided or dealt in a different way to minimize the damage. Why are we discussing Babri, Brahmanic hegemony and all that jazz?

topics like these are @Spring Onion 's favourite. :D

So stop giving her rope. Don't respond to her off topic rants, she has enough time to waste to out-troll you or anyone with a day job.
