All the Pakistanis I know in UK and USA refer to themselves as Pakistani, Muslim or Desi equivalently.
e Pak American diaspora is very different to thier British Pak counterparts. American Paks are mainly from Karachi and are highly educated. British PAk originate from rural villages from Kashmir and Punjab.

This may have been true in the 1980s and 90s but the past 15 years Pak, Indian & Bedesh Muslims are finding unity and a connection through thier shared faith because of the continued media assault on Islam. The whole desi movement is mainly includes Hindus and Sikhs.

It was true until 9/11 happened. After that Muslims have been ostracized, and Hindu's and Sikhs no longer want to associate themselves with Muslims because of racial discrimination. It is because the West has started viewing Muslims differently thru the prism of terrorism leading to Islamaphobia.

People from subcontinent don't create this difference between themselves when abroad.

Don't even hear of fights no more. Mixing between indians and Pakistanis is non-existent. We don't have anything in common with indians like we do with other Muslims so it's difficult to relate to and feel comfortable with them.
there are many levels of interaction and friendship between Paks and Indian Muslims. However I agree not much between Pak and Hindus or Sikhs.

Question is 'Will Indian ABM work against short range battlefield Pak nukes on advancing Indian Army on Pakistani soil'!?

No it will not. Simple reason is that ABM is not designed to work in that way world over. If you knew anything about ABM, you would have realised that it's a defence shield for static locations, not mobile locations.

prior to 9/11 Paks and Indians would stand united to fight against racial prejudice and attacks by white racists. Paks have moved more closer to Muslims from various nationalities.

Very true. But now that has created a strong "Muslim" community in the west that consists of Arabs, Pakistanis, Turks, Iranians and North Africans exclusively. indians are completely different to this group and far removed from it. Nothing now can ever change this.

Maybe you're right. I know Pakistanis in USA directly thru my years spent living there whereas I know Pakistanis in UK primarily thru my family there when I visit them.

Prior to 9/11 there was hardly any attacks by white racists and racial prejudice was not in the open. The reason for Pakistanis and Indians to stand together was more based on common culture and linguistic traits.

But still they are cordial and amicable to each other, at least the people I know.

Interns of faith Sunni Paks in UK belong to branches of Sunni Hanafi schools of thought. Deobandi and Brailvi. Both of these respected subsects have thier headquarters in India. To say people from Pak have no connection to India is not quiet right.

Dude of cors they are as it is very common to see a masjid, Mandir and Gurdwara in a mixed area of any large city of the UK. People of Indo Pak heritage live as neighbours, are work colleagues and some are friends.

We have no connections to Sikhs and Hindus. They are the "real indians".

1970? White neo Nazis known as the national front targeted anyone brown and black. Buddy watch the film This is England

You are totally missing the point. Please read rest of my posts in this thread. ABM is nuclear deterrence, where even partial effectiveness with ABM, is preferable to no effectiveness if you don't have ABM.

No. I have not missed any point at all.

People don't get into a head on collision because they have an auto insurance.

ABM is like that costly insurance which may mitigate the financial risk but never the human risk.

I was talking about USA, I never lived in UK, just went to visit few times, so can't comment.

Nuclear doctrines are bit more complex than this.

Must be, makes sense..

There was never a decisive victory in Indo-Pak wars. 1971 was an anomaly as East Pakistan was far away from the West. No sane Indian would propose IA to venture deep to Pakistani territory. Any future war would just be limited to few kms along the LoC & IB.

Ok, sorry misread your statement. South Asian were united once to defend themselves and their communities but in recent times they have grown apart. More are finding common ground through their faith hence a closer connection with Indian Muslims, Bangladeshis, Arabs, North Africans, Somalis, Turks etc. Hindus and Sikhs are closer to the White Brotish populations now.
