Actually, research into key technologies required of a weapons systems is usually indicative of the state's interest therein; where else would the research get all the funding from if India wasn't looking to develop it?

ALCM i guess not. Nirbhay ALCM & Brahmos ALCM is already in pipeline.

BVR yeah certainly possible. Astra has lower range compared to other contemporary BVR missiles at the moment. Maybe its a mkii or mk iii concept of Astra or a different bvr altogether.

Hmm.. Air Intakes .. Dose it mean that the space taken by the oxidizer can be completely replaced by solid fuel to provide higher range ?? And it will also make this a two stage (Booster and Actual RAM Stage) b'coz the ramjet to work you need supersonic air or a single stage rocket body that can only be launched by fighter doing high subsonic or supersonic flight. Both these will have some trade off like for instance maneuverability ? Also I cannot see any front or body fins, I doubt it might low nose authority. But a TVN can solve the issue. By the above we can safely assume it's not a short range All aspect missile. Mostly it can be "Hacked" to a Anti Rad or LR/BVR A2A.
