LOL! Considering Turkey has been itching to blow up the entire Syrian Air Force since 2012 (with the US holding them back from doing it) it’s an amazing coup that Turkey has made it into talks...probably over Syria’s objections.

US can't even occupy Iraq. Turkey is much weaker than the US. Turkey would have immensely difficulty occupying Syria considering the entire Arab League with the exception of Qatar is extremely hostile to Turkey.

It’s you that is stuck in the past. Nato slowly develops into a security alliance spanning the globe. Focusing on USSR or Russia is an outdated view. Why NATO sees China as security threat? I am not aware that Russia equals China, one country.
