Thanks but no thanks for the compliment. Mate to know the dukh bhari dastaan of Tejas one doesnt have to be an expert. Its written all over the wall. You just need to look at the right place.
Well, Fortunately I Dont Belong to Your Country to See The Aircraft Upside down Inorder to Look into the right place....
LCA has series of flaws and havent achieved most of the parameters that it promised. Where shall we start from
What did it Promise????
Just take speed for example. While it was designed to Mach 2 plus, it hasnt crossed Mach 1.1 yet. Whats the reason? Weak airframe or under powered engine ? Come on guys, its been 30 years almost and the aircraft hasnt even gone near the speed that it advertised. Tejas is too slow to survive in the real world.
Tejas was Advertised to be 1.6 and 1.8, and it meets the Speed perfectly, and it did meet those speeds In High altitude testing and When It came to Sea Level trials It recorded a cruising speed of 1350Km/hour when compared to Cruising Speed of JF-17 which is 1200 km/h In Sea level
Then there were engine issues with kaveri. Do we really have to go thru this ? I am sure anyone with little know how will know that how bad the Kaveri sucked ( no pun intended!! ) . So you guys to switch GE 404. But it way under powered for what you want out of Tejas. So which engine are you guys finally going for ? Kaveri or 404 ?
Certainly, Certainly Bring this Issue, Kaveri As You Know Gives the Same Thrust as the Engine which Powers JF-17 Thunder gives, But IAF wants a Better Engine, there Is Nothing wrong with the Engine, But it Does not meet the standards of IAF which Compromises for nothing less than 90KN thrust
Basically no one at DRDO is sure which engine to go for and I guess that selection of engine effect 20 other parameters like , of course speed, G-load, wing loading, manoeuvrability, external load carrying capability and etc etc etc. So therefore Teajas has issues that makes it obsolete in front of the fighter aircrafts of its generation.
Actually DRDO Does not need to wonder which Engine goes Into It, Its MOD which has Selected GE to power the Tejas, Hope You have heard the News About Indian Single Crystal Blade For Kaveri Which Is ready to Be Put to Test In October trials,... But pakistan on the other hand hasnt even reached a state of manufacturing bike Engines,Leave alone for aircraft ( no pun intended!! )
Once the engine is sorted, lot of Tejas problems will be sorted, but at the moment it fails to delivers what it promised.
Engine has Never Been the Problem ,and LCA LSP 4 is The Final Design which Is Going to be Inducted and Has Undergone 14 flight tests Till August 26th
