Narrowing PAF Gap V IAF by 2015

let's say PAF has closed gap with IAF & may even overtake IAF. what's achieved?? just by achieving the military might is not be all & end all. what about bridging gap in other sectors? even north korea has more powerful military than most of the countries, but people live like slaves.

india has more powerful economy than most of the countries but people live even worse then slaves :blah:

We do discuss about fighters and missiles here.
Do we fly or fire them.??

So its ok if there is a poll.

It doesn't mention clearly that forum members did the poll. If that's the case it's too irrelevant to post in this forum.

It just says...IAF conducts poll......now my question is why would IAF conduct a poll?

Did You Ever think of Constant Change in IAF's Expectations??? Eventually IAF wanted it to replace The Mig 21's, then IAF wanted LCA tejas Flight controls to be better than Mirage, Then IAF wanted Wanted More Powerful Engines for LCA tejas, and Hence it had To undergo Sevaral Design changes

So basically you are saying that DRDO or IAF were never sure of what to do with Tejas !!! They never stuck to the initial design and kept changing it and wasting time and money.

You will never be able to finish the project if you continue to change it so drastically. Someone might say now that LCA must have stealth features so lets wait for another 5 years. Then someone will say that lets have VTOL capability, so another 5 years. Thats a total waste man.

Basically Indians didn’t know what to do with this aircraft and they are still not sure. The design and the things that TEJAS has were becoming obsolete as more time was wasted and designers did'nt know what to do with it. :undecided:

Had DRDO stuck with initial design, rolled out the aircraft and started producing it then atleast there was some face saving. Further changes and upgrades could be made later on as the aircraft matured into the service. The new models could have better design features and enhanced capability. You guys could keep it improving while the aircraft was in service. Just look at the F-16 Block 1 and the Block 62. They continued to evolve the aircraft as it was in service,

Now TEJAS will be ops God knows when and is already an obsolete. Even the IAF reduced its orders and looking for other better options (MRCA) because Tejas fails to deliver what it was meant for. :hitwall:

The poll was regarding the "time" factor , not the capability factor.

Why they conducted ?? i have no idea, Maybe just for fun.
Maybe the site's opinion poll page was idle for months and the IT guy might did it for time pass. Who knows.

Wrong and childish thinking. We never want to overtake you in numbers because we simpli cant afford it.

Our aims are not global but regional. We only want a resonable numbers of modern hi tech aircrafts that can have a decent deterance level and can fit into our objectives.

my friend there is always different sides & different contexts for an argument. one is your point of view and the one is 'penumbra's on #163. end of the day it's upto you to take it in whichever spirit and whatever the context?? if the above serves your esteem, good on you!!

Do you know when JF program was initiated in China ? Think about it and consider the fact that China had considerable aero experience before initiating JF program.

So you cant justify delays in Tejas so start to pick on JF-17. Nice try mate. :sniper:

JF-17 project was started way after LCA and its already flying operationally.

A/C building is not easy ---

Of course when India is making it. :hang2: :lazy:

Do some research -- google around -- and compare the timelines realistically ..and see when was started at what time ! You will find there isnt much of a difference.

Of course when India is making it. :hang2: :lazy:

Dont Flame !!! You will not like it when it will be dished out to you in the equal fashion ....

Actually this is interesting, that IAF would involve itself online, on the defense forums......

Lol. now our indian friends are comparing the Tejas with Rafale  Man O man. Rafale may have took some time but atleast its SOME respectable aircraft .Where does Tejas stand ? I guess nowhere :azn:

Dont you guys still want Rafale for MRCA as well

Anyways here is the broad time outlibne for ur consumption. Read it carefully and then comment

RAFALE

In 1983, France awarded Dassault a contract for two Avion de Combat eXpérimental (ACX) demonstrators.
The Rafale A technology demonstrator was rolled out in late 1985 and

Made its maiden flight on 4 July 1986.

Production orders were placed in 1988.

NOW LETS COMPARE TIMELINE WITH LOVELY DOVELY TEJAS

1983 DRDO obtained permission to initiate a programme to design and develop a Light Combat Aircraft

7 more years gone :hang2: , finally

1990 Design of LCA was finalised as a small delta winged reverse static stability aircraft.

:lazy:

1995 First technology demonstrator, TD-1, rolled out on 17 November 1995 and was followed by TD-2 in 1998. However, technical problems in flight control systems and structural deficiencies plagued the prototypes and they remained grounded.

and finally after nine years

2002 TD-2 makes a successful maiden flight.

still trials going on :hang2:

2010 LCA Tejas LSP-4 Makes Maiden Flight. The flight marks the first time for a Tejas aircraft flying in the configuration that will be finally delivered to the Indian Air Force.

did you see mate where the timelines stand between Rafale and Tejas

still some say 2011, and some 2015 before it will be ops in the IAF. Who knows.

U r comparing dassault aviation which has decades of experiance and designed and manufactured hundreds of fighters, agianst HAL which is doing it for the first time?

u will be comparing DRDO to alien technology next

Good luck telling them not to fight.
