My views on Modi

Word of mouth is different from WRITING on a blog, forum or any other platform.

Modi DID sign a contract. Its called an Election Manifesto.

Oh Dear! you walked right in didn't you? So tell me what is the penalty for non performance and I would be standing in line out side local BJP office to collect my share of bounty.

Congress are shooting themselves in the foot by promoting that clown as their "leader", it really is one of the most pathetic sights to see grown men and women praising a loser like Rahul, I don't know how they can say he is Modi's equal with a straight face. Are they blind to his shortcomings?

Well thats how indian political parties work...... There are bakth's in every party.... some are of them are Modi bakth's, and some are Rahul bakth's......
The best thing Congress could do is to get a truly inspiring/credible leader. Frankly, if Shashi Tharoor had his own party or was the leader of the Congress I would find it hard not to lean towards him.

Shashi taroor is not fit to be an Indian politician.....He is in a different league....

The Brand India's image has improved a lot after Modi took over and our relationship throughout the world from Europe to America to Middle East to Central Asia has improved a lot . Here are some examples I can point to

a) From Inviting Obama for Republic Day to the recent Ashton Carter's comment you can easily guess it
b) French will be our strategic partner post Rafale but he made effort to improve it with most of the Major EU powers
c) UAE and Saudi Arabia you very well know the reports published in Pakistan
d) Investment in Iran and the relationship with it

And China and Pakistan is a very different case. I feel whatever being done is pushed with some agenda which might take some time to get a clear picture
I am talking specifically about the mess he has made of his Pak policy, given this is India's most serious foreign policy challenge everything else pales into comparison really. Not only has he made huge overtures to them, he has engaged in meaningless "gestures" towards them (hugging Sharif, touching his mothers' feet) and what did India get in response? Pathankot. Those animals came to destroy Indian strategic assets have no doubt, it is only because of the heroes in the intel agencies and on the ground that those plans were litterally blown apart along the perimiter wall. And to make matters worse Modi adds insult to injury by letting the very people who planned such an attack come and investigate it inside India- he allowed the criminals to investigate their own crime and thereby legitimised their "non-state actor" BS.

And the cherry on top is the events of the last two days, two MAJOR U-turns. Not only do the FS talks occur (after they were "suspended post Pathankot") but the GoI backs down on the visa for the Chinese whatever he was. Where is Mr 56 inch chest? Where is the decisive leader India was promised?

"No talks over the bodies of our soldiers" who screamed that brother?

I can understand that buddy but Modi can do little on the ongoing case in the indian courts
There was meant to be a new SIT formed in late 2014 but no news ever came from that. I'm sorry bro but it just isn't good enough.

Ease of doing business have improved a lot and india emerging as a top FDI destination happned without any of these big-bang reforms now with the improved RS number that will be passed . And here too you can critize him only when he sits idle for the GST to be passed but that's not the case he is doing everything possible to improve the state of the economy and ease of doing business . Look at what Moodys' has to say about MII

Point taken but it doesn't excuse the fact that the "big bang" reforms are still pendings.

IF after 3 years Modi does not deliver 24 hr electricity to your place, I agree it would be considered a failure.
But, the way they are performing on electricity has been good.

.
I think the most democratic party (from our available bunch) is CPM..... But then what kind of result they provide is a different matter altogether...... You talk about lalu and modi..... The reason for more votes for lalu we all know..... But Look at the Kerala..... BJP is yet to open an account ever...... So in our democracy you need not win all the states, but look for 272 seats from where ever you get.....

Well it takes time..... Let us not forget couple of decades ago BJP had only 2 seats in LS.....

Fair enough. Though it presents a major disadvantage of parliamentary democracy but that is a topic for another day.

DO so and post the reply in the forum.

THEN we can talk. Simple right ?

I have no interest in debunking your personal claim. Tomorrow you will claim that an Alien visited your home and ask me to prove that it did not. Sorry, no can do.

When I claim that aliens visited by home then you can ask me proof, right now provide proof for performance of BJP. I am not asking you for negative proof but positive proof and that positive is performance of BJP.

And what is the penalty for breech of contract? I wont vote for BJP? That is my right not my recompense.

Please refer your basic legal theory and understand what contract means. Not voting is something which I already have as a right.

I see figures nationally but the lack of fan in summer time for 9 hours in day it makes me cranky, even my invertor gives in after 4 hours. Otherwise i harbor no ill will or agenda towards BJP

Disadvantages of our parliamentary democracy....... I guess we should have this topic as one of our discussion...... As you said let us deal with modi today :)

Well, there is no shortage of power.
As far as I understand power is available for states to buy at considerable rates.

Problem is infrastructure, which they are tackling at war path.
As with any infra improvement, all can not be done at once.

That's why I said to criticize after 3 more years when BJP's term gets over. That would be fair in my opinion.

The GoI's work on electrifying villages has been particuarly impressive IMO.

Considering I hadn't even heard of the fact that 18,000 villages in idna in the 21st centuary were still without power admitting that fact in itself represented quite an impressive change in policy and then commiting to addressing that by 2018/19. Simiarly, their work on solar energy is commendable.

My question is, what modi has done for power???? What ever you said was there before too ( the post was specific to what @Spectre posted.... Ie power cuts)

.
I like MODI Coz he has given right people the right post...
DOVAL , jaishankar , parrikar etc..

He has business mind ..

What I didn't like is reducing the deposit interest rates, not everyone can start up some factory ..

Taxing more and more, yet to see any significant improvement for the tax that I have paid...

One cannot burden people beyond certain limit for speedy development .

What is the point if you are not able to provide power to those who already have electricity????
