Muslims in Europe face discrimination: Amnesty

Hmm... honor killings, acid throwin etc crimes in general... are they part of "racism and discrimination" against women?

Why not? If you single out women to be targeted, how is that not discrimination based on gender?

considering the criminals are thrown into jails and if they even get out they become outcaste in the society..

Very colorful tale, but little truth in it. Most of these crimes go unpunished, and the law does not always support the victims. For example in Jordan, up until recently murders in the name of honor would go free within a year, if they even saw a jail from inside. And there is also the matter of upholding the law.

are u tellin me tht muslim countries etc with over 1.65billion people support them?

No.

also do u consider crimes in society as a trend or acceptable? wouldnt thr be random crimes no systematic racism or discrimination like the ones faced by evil muslims in europe?

I did not only specify women, but also non-Muslims and Christians as those minorities who are mistreated or killed. Yeah, targeting people because of their beliefs or gender pretty much defines discrimination.

do u want me to come up with crime figures from EU? would tht mean tht all europeans are rapist, incest loving, racists, colonial mass murderers?

Show me crime figures which display the level of hate crimes against Muslims in Europe, and you'll see it would look completely feeble against the atrocities committed in the Muslim world against minorities. I bet they're more and severe hate crimes in the Muslim in one month than 10 years of hate crimes in Europe, where most hate crimes would probably consist of some nasty comments on the internet about Muslims or by some right wing politician, but relatively harmless compared with killings and violence.

Just coz germans killed 6 million jews does tht make u pschyos?..... the news u posted... is tht a race crime, discrimination or did the criminals have the intent of the crime rather than anything else?
Some lads abducting and raping non-Muslim girls in the name of Islam. It speaks for itself. But what my point was, this so-called mistreatment of Muslims in Europe is pretty lame and harmless if true, especially considering how so many Muslim immigrants themselves are involved in committing crimes in those very same European countries, indeed on a mass scale. Not to mention discrimination against Non-Muslims in Europe by Muslims or even regarding atrocities of minorities in the Muslim world. It's all about perspective and this report gives a very distorted image of Europe as seen by some, about some minor alleged incidents as if European Muslims must face difficulties on a daily base.

I read and quoted your post in entirety. If you are responding to somebody, use the quote feature. In your case, you only added the context afterwards, not that it justifies anything.

It still does not change the fact that your rant was off-topic. Just because someone else is doing it is no excuse for you to do it. If you don't understand the concept of off-topic, spend some time during your next time off to read up on it.

On topic, you are parroting your typical apologetic legitimization of the discrimination. Your "points" have already been addressed earlier in the thread.

Hahha . I'm quite enjoying watching you trying to weasel out of this. I clearly put ^^^^^. Under his post. An " sign or indicator" that the comment was directed at the post above. A well known 'style or sign' I may add to all. You did not read his post in entireity and you don't have the decency to apologize for jumping the gun and taking a personal shot at me.

If replying to his point was off topic then what was your great contribution to this thread? An off topic rant about me or the intellutual post claiming all Indians are trolling in the thread. That was on on topic yeah? :)

And I don't apologize for him. Unlike your ilk they will be plenty of Indians who will and some have given him their opposing point of view. Something I see lacking from you when your extremist posters come around here. Come to think of it , you play the part of being quiet much like majority of your ilk. I on the other hand called him extremist.

That is poignant point raised by cloaked vessel above.

Does a Muslim have more rights in Europe and western cultures than a non Muslim has in Islamic countries? That does not mean there should be any discrimination tolerated towards them. But it does beg to question the motives of certain Muslim groups here , specifically those from Islamic countries that seem to be suddenly waving the flag of " all must be treated equally"

Where is this righteous vocal Muslim population when the world sees terror being subjugated on others? Honestly, the perception of Muslims is largely because too many stay silient. Even when their own dictators kill their kind... The outrage seems to only come towards non Muslims , less of course the Chinese. Every Muslim they kill are "terrorist" . they seem to agree to.. Rest are freedom fighters

Again, you have trouble staying on topic. Answer me this simple question:

What does a German citizen of Muslim faith have to be punished for alleged crimes half a world away?

And, again, these are not vague numbers, the AI article talks about specific European laws.

Looks like people are disturbed with my post. Good, moderate muslims move out from the pockets. and they are in main stream society. Muslim leaders who uses them for votes, its his interest to keep in that pocket.

You have a severe case of cognitive dissonance. My criticism of your off-topic posting stands regardless of what someone else was doing.

I was calling you to task because you have a habit of going off-topic in every thread. If I see him doing the same, I will call him out for it.

Exhibit B: More off-topic rants...

And then you have the audacity to complain that you are being unfairly criticized.

Hmm, that is such a flawed thinking. Show me a law that is made for the majority in terms of crime prevention. The laws are made beacuse the minority, yet large in numbers create a secrurity risk. Any religion that has similar security risks would also come under it. Like how they banned Nazi symbols and followers...

.
Why are you even arguing with xenophobes?

The fact that they run off from the topic to half a world away is an admission that they cannot respond to the findings of the Amnesty International report. The debate is about European citizens in Europe, yet they find refuge in standard rants about "Islamic countries", etc.

How does a schoolgirl wearing a headscarf while going to school or playing football pose a 'security risk'?

It directly conflict her two basic rights: right to education and right to practice religion.

Why should a state put a twelve year old in such a difficult position?

P.S. Remember that France, for example, had no problem with Jewish men wearing kippas to school for centuries and then, all of a sudden, they threw a tantrum about Muslim headscarves.

The topic is about Muslimsbeing discriminated in europe.
The post is about why in my opinion they get discriminated. And that is off topic to the THINK TANK. :meeting:

Well it's obvious Islamic countries are based on Islamic principles, while western countries are based on western principles, such as freedom, equal rights for ALL, and separation of religion and the state.

Yes, it is off-topic because you are making an explicit comparison of rights in European and Islamic countries.

That is not the issue here; most of us acknowledge that Muslim countries, like many developing countries, have a ways to go in the human rights department.

The question is whether European Muslims have some of their rights abrogated due to the current climate of hysteria. Are they equal citizens? The debate is to compare the rights of European Muslims with European non-Muslims, not Pakistani Christians.

It's a silly question, which can never be deduced from my previous posts. Nowhere did I state that somebody should be punished for crimes in a far away place. I'm all for fair treatment regardless of the religion, so your previous cheap shot of calling me a bigot was also beside the point.
I criticized the report for its lack of hard data. A report in which testimonies, for example, of an European citizen (with head scarf) who got rejected for a job and therefore felt discriminated, while the dress code clearly stated no tattoo, no weird hair dresses no religious symbols, such a report cannot be taken very serious and should be put in its perspective, even if a fraction of the paper was true.

Same reason why a new born baby also has to go through a secrurity check in an airport. Laws are not meant to be flawless. How silly of you THINK that .... In the case of wearing it to school , it may have to do it with no religious symbols are allowed period. In the US you can't wear a Jesus T-shirt to school. School is void of all religious symbols

Yes it is about islamic. Countries. You can't expect go be the demander of rights based on Islam and yet expect us to not ask ... What happens if we come in your back yard...who died and made you guys the king Bhai?
