What's new

Mughal-mukt' india , Students will now earn credits for specialized knowledge in Purans, Vedas

I remember in the UK everyday we used to have to go assembly and sing out of this hymn book unless your parents objected which mine did not .

That is what I loved when I went to the States in state schools you pledged allegiance but separation of church and state . If it is not forced nothing wrong with it history should be told how it happened

NO,
Let me clarify,
I think the real, indian if you want to call it that, in modern day are the Tamils.
They were probably pushed south, from invaders.

These invaders couldn't come across the mountains, the only probable route was
from the north west, i.e the modern day Pakistan.

The invaders mixed with local population, and the results are visible to see.
Just look at 2 traits. nose structure, and eyes.
now plot them from north west pakistan to southern most and eastern most india.

you will see results.
I am Thamizhan and know we are quite intense about our history.

If at all Thamizhars were pushed down southward , it must have happened much before Mughal invasion. Even during the Nanda and Maura dynasty rules, the great (and not so great) Thamizh kingdoms were all only in the south , with occasional forays into north. So my understanding is that what we call Thamizhars today might be an offshoot of the Harappa civilization which as you'd know, was much much earlier than Islam or Mughal .

There's another interesting theory bring researched now - could the Indian peninsula might have extended much further down south and westword? There are some really old thamizh literature references to such land and the great ocean flood event that submerged those. That'd , if true, make south India much bigger mass than north. But this is a just emerging theory - lot of research required.

Are you saying that you are happy that these invaders raped your ancestors because the future generation ended up having fair skin?

If that's your logic, then we should invite Europeans to give you a DNA upgrade.
You Indians are the number one customer of Fair and Lovely and obsessed with being 0.001% fairer than each others' caste, not us.

Interesting.

Pakistan which is an Islamic Republic, an allowance of 20 extra marks for the Holy Book was challenged in the court and resulted in the biggest constitutional crisis in 3 decades.

India which is a secular country, they would be awarding extra points for proficiency in Hindu holy books. No constitution required.

Interesting indeed.

True,
I absolutely subscribe to that,
however I also think, that what is now mahabharta, is actually the result of wars fought
at that time between the original indians and the invaders coming from north east ( Aryans ).

and the reason above can never be accepted, is because that will put recent popular narrative in the gutter, and will break the basis of class system, by virtue of which the
brahmins have enjoyed themselves for so long.

Brahmins were the left off, of the aryans ... and they created a system thereby subjugating
the original indians.

Partly. but the recent narrative is mostly without any actual evidence. And full of contradictions.
For example, who were the original Thamizhar? Are all brahmins of one type? What about the Tahmizh brahmins? To answer such questions, these semi literate 'researchers' came up with another beauty : that Thamizhars were the only and total populace of all of India....Then you ask them to explain original races of India such as Nagas and they alter their answer again

My point is it is very easy to create theories and show some half brained conjecture. There has to be solid evidence before we can believe any of it.

Well, there is one problem I can see,
and that is that the people who come up with these stories, are not trained in any other science.

If it were me, I would most probably correlate this information with other, such as geography to start with.

for example, Asam is wayyyy up north. and there is little incentive for people living
in the indus valley areas, to go that far, when everything they needed could be serviced near them.
and it seems they had trade links already in the persian gulf as well as the red sea.

yes. without proper research and analysis techniques many of these theories are laughable.

There is ancient Thamizh literature, there is ancient Sanskrit treatises...but these are only as good as what people understand from them. Most Thamizhars cannot understand or speak old Thamizh in these works, so a few people who can end up interpreting and misinterpreting with biases of race religion and creed.

Then there are copper and stone inscriptions. These however are (at least so far) just around 1000+ years old - not in the scale of time required to develop race evolution.

LOT OF WORK remains to be done.

Actual archaeological digs , temple research etc will IMO reveal a lot more in fothcoming decades

Well two things need to be calibrated first, before everything else.

a. Actual age of the erstwhile Indus Valley civilization
b. Actual age of the mahabharta, vedas etc.

When we are able to put some empirical evidence on these two, we will be able to
put the remainder in perspective.

Shut up pervert

In day-before-yesterday's thread about a Punjab policeman calling some arrested women as "Gashti" and flashing to them you were protected from answering me by some mod. I was thread-banned there. I suspect Waz. You call women derisively as "Gashti" and you dare call me as pervert ???
