A joint military operation against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Kandil region along the Iraq-Iran border is on the agenda, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said.

“Taking a joint action with Iran is always on the agenda,” Erdoğan told reporters on Aug. 21 before departing for Jordan.

Erdoğan’s words came after the Iranian army’s chief visited Ankara last week.

He said the PKK posed threats to both countries, adding that Iranian and Turkish officials discussed the struggle against the PKK and its Iranian branch, the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK).

“Two chiefs of armies discussed the work that can be carried out and its diplomatic dimension,” Erdoğan stated.

Useless. They are not open targets. They blend into towns and cities.

Good good, MIT and Iranian intelligence working together should be able to be unstoppable in iraq and syria.

Strange times indeed!!! Iran went to capture Syria only to find herself losing Iraq!!! Now, her flanks are exposed!!! Even Iraq's Shia leader is meeting Saudis!!!!!

Iran was or is not losing in Iraq. In fact, its influence has been strenghtened ever since IS took over large areas, and Iran managed to attract tens of thousands of Shias in the PMU. Moreover, Moqtada al-Sadr is not the leader of Iraqi Shias.

Meaning souring relations to Syria by supporting opposition was for nothing, assuming the news is true but we will see it in a couple months anyways.

We lost in Syria. Not much to do beside scrapping together whats left in the aftermath. Even the Idlib rebels are now being dominated by HTS, a group that is exclusivly against Turkish influence. At best what we can do is retain our close relations with Iran with agreements like these and perhaps expand our control in N.Aleppo to include Manbij and Afrin(unlikely as it may be).

The Israelis are behind the attempt to make greater Kurdistan region and that's why Iran is backing the TURKS against the PKK. In any case the PKK are not Muslims and that's why the US backs them even though it designated a terrorist group by the US

Thats obviously the case, now its time to get together the broken pieces, Turkey is pretty much alone in Syria, the goverment bet on the wrong horse.

Oh my ....
So the American Israeli desire for stablishing of the great kurdistan is turned to nightmare about Iranian Turkish collaboration in their dream land!!!

Wake up man! Muslim countries knock Irans doors when they are in trouble. Iraq wasnt the exception. We helped their sunnis and shias to get liberated from IS dominance. Turkey has similar situation and we didnt refute to help you guys.
Turkeys sovereignty is our redline in that region, the same about iraq and syria.

We will slap USA with helping all of Muslim countries.
