WASHINGTON: US Senator John McCain’s warning that if Pakistan does not stop supporting the Haqqani network, the United States should change its ‘behaviour’ towards the Pakistani nation reflects the changing mood in Washington towards a country once considered a close ally.

Senator McCain, who was in Islamabad recently before flying over to Kabul, said he had conveyed this message to Pakistan’s civilian and military leaders as well.

“We have made it very clear that we expect they [Pakistan] will cooperate with us, particularly against the Haqqani network and against terrorist organisations,” he said at a news briefing on Tuesday in Kabul.

“If they don’t change their behaviour, maybe we should change our behaviour towards Pakistan as a nation.”

After so much wooeing Pakistan civil and military failed to satisfy USA and it's Allies in Afghanistan.

It's look like India and Afghanistan now have upper hand in this conflict another defeat on both diplomatic and military front.

Why neutral policy was not adopted in Afghan war just like it was adopted in Yemen Iraq and Syria no to be part of conflict in any Muslim country affairs specially when Pakistanis give lectures to others specially Arab allies on proxy wars.

Pakistan should increase its military strength and fence borders on west sides along Iran and Afghanistan instead of looking for strategic depth in Afghanistan and friendly Iran policies and allow border management duties to its rogue neighbors as in geopolitics you can't make all happy it's a reality there is no neutrality in current world where national interests bound to clash now or later.

For Pakistan to actually stand up to US we first need to have a strong civilian leadership in Pakistan and not this joke of a lion that we now have who is corrupt to the core, has accumulated all his wealth abroad and in fact takes assurances from these same countries. The only thing tat constantly changes is the American mood and mindset. One minute they are singing you praise the next they are warning you of war. Pakistan desperately needs to make militery service mandatory for all abled citizens and seal the Iran Afghan border.
