And the auto-rickshaws are none these things!!

 Fair enough. But when you upgrade, you want to upgrade with something better, right? Those things are death traps, you d be surprised just how many people are getting killed in those things everyday.

Auto rickshaws struggle to top 40 Km/hr, these contraptions Tata Magic Iris can go up to 80-90, and with almost nil safety features, they are a death trap on our roads.

We deserve better.

Hero motorcycles expands its operations in Central America

Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, expanded its international foothold by launching its range of two-wheelers in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras under the brand name Hero. To enter the above mentioned Central American markets, Hero MotoCorp has signed a joint venture with Indy Motos which has been appointed as the authorised distributor for its range of two-wheelers in the above mentioned countries.

Speaking on the move, Pawan Munjal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Hero MotoCorp, said, “This launch is a significant milestone for us considering this is the first of the new international markets where we are starting our operations. It gives me immense pleasure to announce Indy Motos as our partner for Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. I am sure that their rich experience in this market and knowledge of the local customer will go a long way towards further strengthening our business here.

Hero has launched the Karizma, Hunk, Glamour, HF Dawn, Super Splendor, Splendor NXG and Achiever in the three Central American countries. Expansion in foreign markets seems to be a positive move for Hero with bike sales dwindling in the domestic market (Hero sales figure for April 2013). Hero will soon start operations in Latin & Central America and Africa and has set a target to register 10 per cent of its overall sales from overseas markets. Currently Hero exports to Colombia, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Force Motors are on a very aggressive form now. The company recently launched the Force One SUV and now they are gearing up to launch the Viano Van soon. It is very clear now that Force Motors has developed close tie-ups with the Daimler group, using engines and gearboxes for their products like the Force One. The Viano is also based on the Mercedes Viano that sells in the international markets. The Indian version is going to be very similar to the internationally sold model thus making it a really sought after product. The Viano is already a huge hit in the international markets.
Force Motors will definitely be taking good care of the overall build quality and fit and finish of the vehicle. The Viano looks pretty decent for a van and offers loads and loads of space inside to make the owners feel at home. India will be getting the 8-seater version with ample store house for luggage making it a very favourite among family owners. It will be powered by the same 2.2L engine sourced from Mercedes that currently powers the Force One. However, the power output and torque figures might be tuned for extra load carrying capacity. It is expected to be launched at the Auto Expo 2012 in a price bracket of Rs. 12 to

Pretty cool news- maybe this could lead to Force Viano Ambulances for the Indian roads (given Force has the monopoly in the Ambulance market).

Force motors are confusing people. they build Force Traveller(force one too perhaps!) which are hot sellers and build quality looks good. but, they also make Trax cruiser/gurkha/judo which are excellent off road vehicles but build quality is suspect.
