Lt Gen Ishfaq Nadeem likely to be named as next Army Chief : Political Circles

Interestingly, every COAS appointed by the civilian setup based on their perception that the man would be a toady has turned out to be the one deposing them.

Be it Zia or Musharraf

Ultimately they (COASs) will be tamed and to be a good toady as require in the constitution one day. RS was a good start.

Because you cannot predict how certain individuals will react in certain situations. Even your family or friends, in this case these 4 guys are only known to NS by the book or hearsay.

Aren’t you surprised by G Raheel reactions, through his time in the dawn case and Asim, Kiyani? Even after corps commanders agreeing to accountability, only resulted in few medals taken away from some army men. After blatant corruption by army and how it was felt in the public.

He had to behave the way he did, it was his and his top brass collective effort. After the damage caused by Musharraf and Kiyani to the army’s image in the Pakistani public eye.

Not at all
Both Kayani and Raheel are professionals and by the book. Musharraf and Zia were fairly mediocre and generally underperforming, making it up the ladder bit by bit.

Previous generals that have not interfered were also those who were thorough professionals and respected the constitution

I repeat; Future COASs would definately be good toady of "PMOP" as requires by the constitution of Pakistan just like RS; weather one specially likes of Mr. @Oscar likes it or not.

All corrupt politicians are going to join their corrupt minds in search of another Gen. Yahya & Gen. Kiyani.

Add NRO to that as well and its time limit is approaching.

So maybe another coup? Having a coup, somehow, seems to be the sole purpose of creation of this forum

Just a hint, remember that mustaches and coup theory that TTs were selling here in 2014 dharna days?

:)
That may be a theory, and it might have looked that way as well. However, Pakistani politics is rarely done without external interference from power sources 1000s of km away.
These powers intervene in protecting their interests all the time

PTI/tis should stop dreaming about army intervention to remove Nawaz, they always say federation is in danger. If federation can survive 5 years of Zardari then Nawaz is better option any day.

As I know these power regularly make due payments and those payments are not to politicians. Planes, ammo, cars
Any bridge, road, university, hospital created from such payment where politicans can have their commission?
If there's even a single such payment made to politicians, i would glad to be corrected.
