So according to you Airbus is copying Boeing, because their planes are have 2 wing right left with similar shape - exactly like Boeing?

I'd like to applaud the Chinese rocket engineers who finally found the paddle fin and fold down leg designs were far superior to all their current old rocket designs.

As just like a jet plane has 2 wings all rockets should have landing fins and fold down legs. It is the standard rockets should be following. it has just taken China years to wake up to industry standards. I know it can be hard to make a switchover and admit decades of using a bad design of not using paddles and fold down legs.

This confirms SpaceX was correct in making sure to push that this design should be followed by all future rocket makers. The US, as usual, leads the way in setting standards.

Thats so narrow minded of you. They not necessarily copy SpaceX, they could find it by themself how to create air drag in the very effective way with calculation with math and physics. The SpaceX paddle fin and fold down leg is not that unique of so many possible system to make air drag like a unique design of porce or ferrari; it is common logic, just like Airbus A310 wing or delta wing which is not unique. Or just like someone create rod for becycle, they don need to copy or steal idea for the shape of effective rod & tire; by math and physics or even by simplest common sense they will find that round shape is the most effective shape for a rod.

They fear failure and loss of face. When that Starship launched and crash landed the Chinese here saw it as a huge failure..meanwhile everybody else was saying "WOW! That was an amazing feat of engineering that almost worked on the first try!! Congrats"

This guy is German BTW

When the Falcon 9 crash landed on its first few attempts years ago the Chinese here were basically saying "This idea obviously doesn't work and should be abandoned". SpaceX landed their 70th successful rocket a week ago.

They grabbed the Soyuz design because they didn't want to fail in their quest to send a man into space.

They are going to take a route that is known to work.

World's first idea of reusable rocket with fin and fold legs came from Soviet Russia scientists and was first dipicted in 1959 soviet movie "The Sky Calls" which accurately prodicted the scene of how such rocket lands back to a sea-based platform in public. The original soviet solution is so clean and effective that after 60 years SPACEX even had to copy not only the rocket design, but also the sea-based platform

There's lots of sci-fi movies before 1959 showing rockets landing vertically. BTW Landing on a barge is not a requirement for SpaceX. It's just a limitation of launching from the Kennedy Space center due to the geography of an ocean to the east. When launching from California and the ocean is to the west this isn't an issue.

Then you have to have your brain open widely; learn to distinguish between "get inspired" and "copy", it is not the same! use the same method is not copy! copy is applicable for aspecific design or detailed/specific technology; saying using the same padle fin and move leg method as copy is too general to be said copied, same like saying Eurofighter copy of Mirage 2000 just because they are using delta wing and canard on plane.

There is math and physics calculation there, if China just follow the same method without proper math and physics calculation and engineering it will end up with failure.

Well yeah neither did the Soviets before Vostok 1 and that didn't stop them...and they didn't throw in the towel when people got killed (especially after Soyuz 1)...they pressed on. Thumbs up to them for going the distance from scratch..
