What's new

Long March-8 Rocket will be reusable

Well yeah neither did the Soviets before Vostok 1 and that didn't stop them...and they didn't throw in the towel when people got killed...they pressed on. Thumbs up to them for going the distance from scratch..
the designed it because its safer way to do this rather than design something from scratch which was more risky, and tell me before Vostok -1 can some country design human rated system???

. . .
. .
That is exactly my point.

I don't have my Magic 8 ball handy to give you an answer.
The Russians (and the US) sunk lots of money into their programs to launch a man into space. It wasn't from items off the shelf.
Both have no option to design you first human rated spacecraft from scratch, if China has the option do it more safely than design from scratch which is more riskier and dangerous based on some old Russian design, so what is your problem???

I suggest you try and find a Chinese member in this thread who will acknowledge your assertion. They will give you a laugh and say any supposed link between the Soyuz and Shenhzou is pure coincidence.

i don't care that they laugh at me, but its a reality and fact that their first manned rated spacecraft was based on old Soviet/Russian design

Shenzhou return capsule has solar panel and the forward orbital has its own solar panel whole soyuz only the return capsule has solar panel.

In fact China shenzhou can act as a mini space station which soyuz is not able to do it.

So I don't know how some can suggest shenzhou is a copy of soyuz. Sure shenzhou take a lot of inspiration from soyuz but to claim shenzhou is copy of soyuz just show the poor knowledge of him.

Russian soyuz which is basically unchanged from the 60s model onwards

Did u see a pair of solar panel in the forward orbiter? The person say shenzhou is copy of soyuz need to get his eyes check.

Yes u can clearly shenzhou is much bigger and more modern.

The astronaut need not claim torture himself in shenzhou unlike the cram soyuz with a 3 man crew mission

Your return capsule is not exact copy but based and modified form of Soyuz with modern technologies and concepts ( innovations)

Everytime I try and say it is obviously based on the Soyuz (in previous threads)...they flat out deny it. I never said it was a complete carbon copy. Obviously they have upgraded the design as you can see changes...plus the Chinese craft launched 35 years after the Soyuz so they aren't sticking vacuum tubes and other old tech in their new craft. 35 years is a long time.

Anyways since they deny the Soyuz heritage I just say well you obviously "heavily borrowed" many major design choices...which they then deny too saying it is just a common shape type in spaceflight.:rolleyes1:

So now with the Long March 8 I just said I again see some major similarities this time with the Falcon 9...and here we are in the same denial loop with "landing waffle fins and fold down legs" are a "common rocket design element just like airplanes have wings". :rolleyes1:

His interior spacecraft pic isn't helping his case. Ok, it seems they may have widened the diameter...but it is still the same basic capsule setup. They even have the same distinctive blue striped Soyuz Sokol spacesuits on.

Now u changed tone and claim it's borrow design before that u keep harping about Shenzhou is mere copy of soyuz even in other thread. Typical American move, flip flopping and never end. :enjoy:

In 2022 he will say the Chinese Space Station is a copy of Mir or ISS

He is just upset China space technology is catching up fast on US and surpass even on some area. Mark my words, US will do away the wolf policy and allow ISS emergency capsule to dock on Chinese space station when necessary since it is the only space station besides ISS in orbit.
