Why do you think that communists took power in Kerala in the first place? I know the Communists are the descendants of the Congress socialists.

As I mentioned to Nair Saab before, When communist party came in the 1950's, all the religious organisations were suspicious of the party.

Comparing the Marxist leadership that time and today, is like night and day in my opinion.

In terms of social issues, the communists were indeed in the right in my opinion, but in terms of economics, they ruined it.

Just my view.

Kerala tops in India Today survey | Deccan Chronicle

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has come out first among states in the country in the sectors of education, micro-finance, agriculture, marketing and investment in a survey conducted by 'India Today' magazine.

In last year's survey, Kerala was in the second place among the states.

Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu secured the second and third positions this year.

Goa topped the list of best governed states in the smaller states category.

The survey pointed out a 10 per cent increase in domestic production in Kerala indicated that the economic recession had not affected the state.

In the education sector, the teacher-student ratio had become 1:25 as against the national ratio of 2:100. The per capita income of citizens in the state had also increased.

The magazine described Kerala as a state that had achieved economic growth and human resource development.

Aray baba thats the problem with you guys. U never leran even after losing Azad Kashmir in 1948, then losing badly to China in 1962, then begging for a ceasefire in 1965 after claims from your generals that they will drink beer by evening in Lahore Gymkhana only to be humiliatingly turned back from the front.
Yup we thought that in 1971 you did good and finally learned your lesson, then again we capture kargil heights and you cry to USA, who orders our scaredycat PM to withdraw from all the peaks. Which we did except for one the highest peak 5353 which we still control and will never give back.
So get ready for more lessons in future.

@acetophenol @DRAY could you confirm if peak 5353 is still under their control??From what I know at the end of kargil war,Pak was still holding on to 6 main peaks in Kargil.I dont know the present situation.

There were reports that Point 5353 was under pak control.However,according to the then def minister,George Fernades,Point 5353 was never under our control.We never occupied it in the first place.The capture of Point 5353 was never a primary objective of Kargil war,but efforts were allegedly made to get that point.

The whole pak motive of Kargil war was to cut supplies to the strategic siachin glacier by firing at the Srinager-Leh highway (NH-1D).For this they occupied the Tiger Hill (Point 4660),the highest peak in the region (5,307 m high).

We went in and re-captured the tiger hill and made the main supply root to siachin safe.However,reports indicate that Point 5353 under pak control can be used to direct Arty fire at the highway,but had it been the case,Pak army would've cut off our access to siachin (which never happened;we still control the highest battle field in earth),and IA wouln't have stopped their efforts to recapture the point.

Is he a Pakistani??? (looks like it from the tone tenor of the post).

You also have to keep in mind that Pakistan was the aggressor in the conflict. Tactically (short terms) They made gains. But overall, strategically, it was a blunder.

The thing with Pakistanis is, likewise with indians, who look upon China with insecurity but with admiration, The Pakistanis too suffer from insecurity. Where we have 1962, they have their 1971 when their military was humiliated.

It was from their country Bin Laden was killed. It is their country that is subject to drone raids.

No need to feel humiliated. If they have peak 5353, they had lost Bangaldesh.

in 1965 too they were the aggressors, hoping to make major headway into kashmir until a new front was opened in Punjab and it ended in a stalemate.

@levina, in the end, a lot of the pakistani posters here end up arguing minor territorial semantics, rather than any sure measure of Indian defeat.

Remember in 1965 They thought 1 Pakistani soldier was equivalent to 10 Indian soldiers (Martial race mythos).

Guys like @Oscar or at @jaibi tend to give more balanced views

I wouldn't take a lot of the posters here seriously.
