It can be.I don't think so... most likely only an optical illusion due to distortion.

Wider nose has nothing to do with AESA. It could be to accommodate Electronics considering two seats have taken much space. It could also be to introduce stability in design considering several changes had to be made to air frame.
JF-17B does have a slightly beefier nose but carries the existing KLJ-7V2 radar.
