JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

Truly comparing the JF-17 and J-10 is truly like comparing the F-20 and the F-16. Both jets are even based on these respective jets. The J-10 is basically an F-16 with delta wing( Israeli Lavi uhum uhum) while northrop was involved in the Super 7/Saber 2 design:
Under Project Sabre II and the Chinese Super-7 project, the F-7 airframe was redesigned with angled air intakes on the sides of the fuselage so a solid radome nose could house radar and other avionics from Northrop's F-20 "Tigershark" fighter. The Chinese WP-7 turbojet engine was to be replaced with a modern turbofan engine, either the GE F404 or PW1120, to improve performance. The resulting aircraft, designated F-7M Sabre-II, would have looked much like the Guizhou JL-9 (or FTC-2000) jet trainer / fighter aircraft.

This is a must see for JF17 lovers---- 2:30----and the rest of the stuff---modular design at 9:20---aesa radar nose---minimal staff for maintenance and servicing---smart weapons.

This is basically the parent aircraft of the JF17.

@Windjammer @Mentee @Dazzler

Listen from 3:30---pretty much same spool up time for the JF17

Thanks for sharing. What do you think about JF-17 buddy refueling?

Hi,

I think that would be nice---but I would rather consider a heavier strike aircraft for that role.

Just remember---the JF17 has a limited hours of oxygen supply in the cockpit---. It does not have its oxygen generation system---but an oxygen bottle.

The only thing that the original super 7 had in with the eventual super 7/jf-17 was the name and that china was one of the partners. The JF-17 borrowed more from the Mig-33 (IZD 33) light fighter concept.
