Is it mean one squadron of JF-17 moved to Mushaf airbase?

If you watch the patches on the pilots and engineers in the pictures provided in the express tribune link, you would notice the Saffron Bandit patch. So pics were from during the Saffron Bandit period.

So probably the JFT's were deputed to Sargodha and further South for the exercises.

But picture is of last week?

Doesn't saffron bandit finished in mid of may?

But JF-17 is still at mushaf!

CCS is also at Mushaf.. usually there is always a detachment of a squadron at Mushaf with aircraft "borrowed" from operational sq.
The F-7's with the CCS badge come from a sq and would rotate/return to it during a crises.. the same is with the ROSE mirage..
Only the F-16's which are already based at Mushaf would not carry the CCS badge.
Plus.. The JF-17's make a mean DACT opponent...wonder whats on the wing pylon on the other wing.. ACMI pod??

The question you should ask, is why is the F-7 from an operational sq and pilots at Mushaf?
Is the PAF up to a new training regime rotating squadron batches at the ACMI range at Mushaf to keep them all current for combat?

That does look like an ACMI pod.

I don't see anything on the other wing pylon...could you point it out?

Its PL-5E Training round

We can speculate this as a ACMI pod but that blue missile is PL-5E training round for sure ....

More to mention that I've visited IDEAS'12 and saw GIDS ACMI POD and relative systems. Though it is under development but looks so gud just like the F-16 White color ACMI pod.

According to a news report in AFM, in early January 2011, the PAF's Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Range (EWTTR) was officially opened. Situated 31 miles from Sargodha Air Base, where the Combat Commanders School resides, the PAF is now rotating all it's combat units through the base in two-week detachments to increase pilot's tactical proficiency. This will continue until August when the units will get a chance to practice their newly learned skills before being tested late in the year in a major exercise. One of the first two units to enjoy the EWTTR was No.27 Squadron (Night Hawks) with it's Mirage-VEPs from Rafiqui and No.2 Squadron F-7Ps from Masroor.

Pakistani JF-17 to start mid-air refueling by end of summer:

The PAF's chief has stated that the JF-17 Thunder will start mid-air refueling by the end of summer 2013.

(PAF) The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has successfully completed ground tests on mid-air refueling probes fitted to its Chengdu Aerospace Corporation/Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft and expects to carry out the first mid-air refueling by the end of the summer, the service's chief has told this author.

Air Chief Marshall Tahir Rafique Butt said in a 6 June interview at the PAF's headquarters in Islamabad that the addition of the refueling capability to the JF-17 will improve prospects for international sales of the aircraft, which is jointly produced by China and Pakistan. "The ground tests have been very successful. I am very satisfied. This will be done successfully by end of summer [2013]," he said.

Both countries are reported to have been approached by a number of developing countries interested in the JF-17, which is considered a cost-effective alternative to Western fighter aircraft. Indonesia and Egypt have been named as among possible future customers.

The PAF acquired its first ever mid-air refueling capability in 2010 with the purchase of four Ilyushin Il-76 tanker transports from Ukraine. ACM Butt's remarks confirm for the first time that the JF-17 is to be equipped with the capability, which will significantly extend its range.

ACM Butt said the PAF is "very satisfied" with the performance of the JF-17, saying it will eventually become the backbone of the force along with Lockheed Martin F-16s. The PAF operates French Mirages, F-16s, and a number of versions of the Chengdu F-7.

surprisingly where this ground tests were carried out? In Pak or China? Let's see if they release JF-17 ground test pics like mirage ground test pictures were released,

Guys, if as discussed above, Blue is a training round on the JFT, what does the Red round on this Judy Mirage implies. ??

It's part of the block 2 improvements, which means it is likely that they test it in China currently.
