Pakistan had ethnic clashes in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. After 2012ish I would say Pakistan is way too interconnected and more educated than those times. Which is why I think you'll only see that online but not in real life.

What even is Punjabi nationalism in Pakistan? I understand the other forms of ethnic nationalism as it has a clear end goal: some sort of seperate country from Pakistan.

But what is the end goal? Punjab was divided to create Pakistan. So reunification with East Punjab or secession from Pakistan? I noticed that the majority of Punjabi nationalists online are just undercover Patwaris.

PMLN doesn't speak Punjabi in their rallies. Only Khadim Rizvi was able to tap into the black hole of Punjabi media in Pakistan and would do speeches consistently in Punjabi. After his demise, TLP is just the B team of Fauj.

Punjabi nationalism implies that Punjab and Punjabis would be better off without the constantly complaining minority ethnicities from other provinces, who they believe have held Punjab back for far too long now. It's antithetical to Pakistan ideology in essence

PMLN is a coalition of individuals who benefit from a corrupt system. Many local influential figures support PMLN to maintain control over local areas and government institutions, but these local Punjabi clans and their leaders aren't die-hard supporters of the Sharif family. The most devoted supporters of the house of Sharifs are primarily Kashmiri immigrants residing in central Punjab.

Nawaz Sharif backed establishment has once again started Jaag Punjabi Jaag strategy. Twitter handles are promoting speaking of Punjabi language and preserving Punjabi culture. While promoting the language is a laudable pursuit but promoting hatred against Pashtuns and Afghans is a negative trend. Probably the reason is that Imran Khan is ethnically Pashtun and the Sharifs think that if they can create a wave of Punjabi Nationalism, they will get extra votes in the elections in each constituency and thus make their government. However, this will have far reaching consequences just like the creation of MQM to counter PPP. Poor Pashtun/Afghan labourers and shopkeepers will bear the brunt of this campaign and many will be forced to leave their homes and places of business but this will create hatred in their minds and as a result all of them will vote en-bloc for PTI as it will save them from PMLN and Establishment.

If the Pashtuns/Afghans could deal with threats from the British Empire, USSR and NATO, then they will be able to deal with this internal threat also.

But Imran Khan is a Punjabi and speaks splendid Punjabi and no pushto

How is saving Punjabi language and culture a threat to Pakistan?

It's sad to see that the only Punjabi majority country in the world actively crushes it's own roots and imports/promotes bhaiya language and culture as something superior.
