Israel considers Banning Burka

its obviously not about ''secularism''

if it was, they'd ban hacidics from wearing those tall black hats and long haired sideburns; ban them from wearing their trench-coats etc.

and in this case, it's hard to say it's ''their country let them do what they want'' because we all know that the settlements are increasing and at this rate there wont be any Palestinian land left!

me personally, i could care less about burqas anyways......but hypocrisy and double standards in this case are pretty blatant

That head scarf thing is one thing, ok. But that whole black overall thing is quite disturbing, feel sad for these women.
Try walking in 40 Celsius with all dark, you`ll find what hell feels like.

do you speak from experience? :woot:

Any communal tension in India is good for Pakistan so yes India should ban Burqas.

I saw palestinian women walking around, sweating like animals with all dark cloth. It was pathetic, some even passed out.

because the guards at the checkpost wouldnt let them pass through....making a 5 minute journey into a 2 hour ordeal ;)

but as i said personally (and i emphasize ''personally'') i could damn care less about burqa or niqab......if they banned it even in Pakistan i wouldnt shed a tear.

but israel should at least be consistent...why ban burqa but not ban yamaka or hacidic outfits

We had many Communal tensions in the past (many of them were actually supported by you), but you can't do sh*t. On the otherhand you had ethnic tension in East Pakistan and we helped to break you into two. So the score is still 1-0 in our favor.

Why should you/we care? Its the choice of women to dress like that in desert heat and pass out.

That's why you should not cry about terrorism.Anyway, I think 71 has been avenged many times over.

Unlike the burka, neither the yarmulka nor hasidic outfits (nor, for that matter, the hijab) rob the wearer of external identity.

i think the chauvinistic zionist mindset inside and outside of israel --complemented by the use of force and the building of checkposts-- is what really robs the indigenous population (Palestinians) of their identity.

not a loose piece of black fabric

not saying all israelis are having this zionist mindset....strangely, it is liberal left and hard right which is most against israel's policies......the so-called ''secular nationalists'' in israel are the real danger. I have read about the militant settlers, who have even gotten away with beating up police and harassing Palestinian women (who said nothing and did nothing to them).

well, they certainly know how to hold the Americans by their testicles!!!!

You're reaching.

What avenging? Blasting some bombs here and there is nothing compared to losing half the country one fine morning. Also as far as I know the non-state actors that you so lovingly raised to counter India have now turned against you and you lost more men (both civilians & military) fighting them in the last 4 years than India lost to jihadis since 1947..no to mention separatists like BLA. So pls cleanup your backyard before worrying about India and our problems.

Because misery is terrorism's best friend. The worse their lives are, the easier they are convinced to wear bomb jackets to get those 72 virgins the extremists promise them.
