I understand there are certain conditions that must be met before a building is classified as a mosque. If you are not sure, I would suggest that you err on the side of caution and not commit an answer.

A masjid literally means a place of sajadah. Linguistic meaning.

In Sharia means a place where 5 daily namaz are said. This place can be under a waqf or an endowment given for the sake if Allah.

The masjid cannot be sold as it's a waqf. It will forever be a masjid. As I mentioned before the land/property has to be bought or donated lawfully, etc.

Now this differs to musala. This is not a waqf, or a permanent place of namaz. I heard people in Christendom do namaz in offices, spare rooms and they are NOT masajid, rather musala (place of namaz)

A better question is where in the Quran does it say that?

Where does say in the Quran there is a such a thing as an Agnostic''Muslim''?

There has NEVER been any approval by Sunni or Shia scholars for the actions undertaken by the Najdis. If you're qouting their actions then why stop there? Quote ISIS/AQ as well. Please don't pick and choose when it suits you.

Ok the place where thousands of Muslims prostrated to their lord and later it's converted to cinema or bar and now people are dancing on the same floor. But it's fine because it's just a building right?

So as long as there's no bar, everything is acceptable? Don't want to be conservative minded, but in somethings like faith and cultural values we need to respect no matter in which century we are in. As we all know Indians are killing Muslims for sacrificing cows, which are goddess to them. And they make the point, we respect our religion and can't let Muslims do that. (Wrong idea but they are showing respect). Now the question is, is Islam that worthless to us now that converting a mosque to cinema does NOT even bother us? We are in debate of modernizing Islam.

If old churches can be mosques, then old mosques can be cinemas too.

I would say the distance we have created to Islam. Plus, our Islamic scholars for the most part not very educated. Kind of 'fatwa' machines.
