And I feel bad for you too. Read Richard Dawkin's "God delusion" once, and you may change your mind. (Although most people arrive at same conclusion without reading the book)

This is not a thread to discuss religion or atheism. One person wanted to know how many other people think like him. What is wrong with that.

well it would be better to stop pretending and tell reality to parents because it is better to be nonmuslim then a munafiq(hypocrite or one who pretends to be MUSLIM)
Cos MUSLIM is some one who believes in ALLAH PAK and if you don,t then why to pretend before parents.

EDIT: I just wanted to state that being Agnostic doesn't mean that I don't believe in a God(s). I also respect people of all religions, whether they're Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Jew, Jain, etc.

Many people don't believe in God here nowadays. I want to know why. And I want strong logic. In past I saw some people to say that there is no God. Now I see people to say there is existence of God but no religion. I don't know what is the problem to believe in religion if someone can believe in God. Also I think people failed to prove that there is no God, so now they are saying that there is no religion but God. I thinks them as loser. May be one day people would say, there is God and religion but no Sin.

I also think that if there is no God then why I would believe that. So give me reason for not believing in God. And now many people say there is no religion but God. Give me reason to believe that also.

Note at Iota: And make sure that you are not missing anything. Who knows, may be you will become so religious when you would be 60 years of old. Are you sure that there is no religion?


About me: I still believe in Allah and Islam. I think, due to having advanced knowledge of science, scientists are discovering the secretes of creation and universe, and that does not mean there is no God or Religion. Scientists are discovering the secrets of nature and universe, but not the strong reasons for not believing in God or religion.

And I believe that Allah will not punish me for my sins, just because I told Allah not to punish me even I committed sins, as he is very kind. So I am the most advanced who believe in God, religion and God's kindness, and believe that if I would request Allah then he won't punish me at all. Seriously.

Here: sins = personal sins which do not harm others.

Man, he's just asking people whether they are atheist or not. There's nothing wrong with that, he's not trying to prove atheism is better or anything. Come on, respect our rights to believe in whatever we want just like we respect your right to practice whatever religion you choose.

I am getting there, not totally athesit but somewhat getting there.
Here is what I see.
Religion has become more political.
Religion is getting distorted, people who preach them add their own things to it. There are things that I found which people added to religion something that was never propogated in religion itself. This makes me believe that lot of what we have heard about religion might have been distorted today.

I am also seeing new gods being created out of living people (e.g. satya sai baba) He was clearly shown on TV to be cheating with followers. I still see people beleiving he is god. Now when this is the situation today when we have more literate people. What garuntee is lot of what we know as religion is not right.

Last ask people, they will say that they strongly believe in their religion but ask the same question about other religion and they will be inclined to believe that a lot of it is false.

What does it tell you?
If you leave the emotion aside, it will be hard to believe a lot of what is written in religion.

I am at borderline right now. I actually have no problem telling nearly all the people that I am agnostic. Most people that know me well enough know what I believe in.

This forum does not allow debates on religion or any sort of religious proselytizing topics.

However this particular thread is not about religion as neither agnosticism, nor atheism are religions. Similarly, the OP is just asking for feedback from like minded individuals who pretend to be something in front of their close ones but feel different individually.

What if i open a thread asking if any one else except me think atheists are ignorant & self centered people ? how would you feel than ? and as for his curosity he can find a million Islamic / christine /hindu /jew websites where he will get his answer to his confusion
