China has had a long history of direct warfare against both the superpowers, fighting the USA + 16 of her allies combined in the Korean War (and pushing them into the longest retreat in US military history), as well as multiple direct conflicts against the Soviet Union, notably during the Sino-Soviet Split. Whatever comes our way we will fight it, it's just business as usual...

I believe nobody is insane enough to desire a direct military conflict on either side ( besides the regular tit for tat actions e.g patrols in south china sea or deploying of missile shield) because as we all know there's no real winner in that scenario only deaths, carnage and misery.

Instead the Americans and their allies can wage a financial and/or psychological warfare which can achieve a similar end result as a direct military conflict would have. Sanctions and getting cut off from SWIFT system can cause a lot of economical damage, after all the US dollar is reserve currency of the world. For example, western investment in Russian oil sectors did suffer after Obama admin along with EU put sanctions on Russia.

Have you asked yourself why Saudi Arabia, a friendly country to China, doesn't sell their oil to you in yuan ( even though the Iranians have accepted yuan) instead they ask for US dollars ? or why world's most commodities get bought and sold in dollar not in yuan or rubble,rial,rupees or even euro. There are much bigger pictures at play than just raw military power when it comes to foreign policy and how to enforce it, basically the two can complement each other.

I've always had a huge respect for Iranian culture and civilization (especially anything to do with Cyrus the Great). And I respect the modern state of Iran as well, especially due to science and weapon advancements that are envied by most countries in the world, such as Iran's anti-ship ballistic missile program.

It never really mattered to me whether the sentiment was returned or not, China gets a lot of hate anyway, more of the same isn't going to change anything. I'll respect achievements on their own merit, regardless of politics.

That said, there are many fissures in the relationship between China/Russia and Iran, fissures which countries like Israel and the USA are very keen to exploit. None of these three countries for example are happy to sign a mutual defense treaty with the other.

In fact, despite the rhetoric coming out of Washington (which is mostly electoral politics), the true long-term enemy of the USA is China. If needed, the USA would become friendly with Russia and Iran in a heartbeat if it could help them to (further) contain China's rise. Even though it seems cordial on the surface, the truth is that America sees China the same way they saw the Soviet Union before. As their major long-term rival. It is just a lot less overt this time around, due to how interconnected the two economies currently are.

I can't envisage any scenario where Iran would ever aid the US in their attempts to contain China. Persian-Sino relations stretch back millennia and both our nations are ancient Asian powers. The Americans have tried time and again to weaken our two nations in any way they can , and this will continue to do so until the moment they are simply no longer able to. I see America as a ticking time bomb. They're a dying nation whose life long is their fiat dollar currency and as time goes on, they will be getting more desperate and irrational to survive. They are an enemy of Iran, an enemy that can never be turned to a friend.

Iran and China need to give serious thought to the development of a proper strategic alliance. China is on the verge of becoming a global superpower and Iran already is a regional superpower. Iran and China need to do everything to increase each other's power. Iran can supply China will huge resources and China can aid Iran economically. The only people that have anything to gain from Iran and China distancing from each other are the Americans and their cronies.

Rest assured, our two brotherly nations will continue to strengthen their relations further and further. Let these people burn all they want

Maybe not, but I think they should. In geopolitics, the only thing that matters is national self-interests. If Iran can get a good deal by going against China, I believe they should do that. Iran's duty should be to care for Iranian citizens first. This is the core of realistic politics.

Don't worry about China, we have been "contained" by the USA and the USSR for the past half century already. It's the same game as before, the only difference is that China is now in a much better position to handle it.

For example, in 2012 China seized territory from the Philippines, which was protected by an American mutual defense treaty. But America chose to abandon their mutual defense treaty with the Philippines instead of fighting China. Even after that, the USA did not even sanction China for $0.01! The reason is because the economic blowback to the US economy would have been too much for them to accept.

Therefore, it would be strategically useful for Iran to allow the Trump administration to focus more of their belligerence on China instead, since they have limited tools to do damage in this region. This will buy Iran more time to build up their comprehensive national power, and if they are smart, nuclear weapons too.

The USA knows in their heart that it is China that is their major long-term rival. I won't begrudge any country that sides with the USA against China, if it is in their own best interests. Everyone's duty should be to their own citizens first. China can take care of itself well enough.
