US (specially neocons) ultimate goal is to contain China and Russia. They've been partially successful with Russia since deploying Air defense systems in eastern Europe and now South Korea recently received THAAD system plus Japan will soon join as well ( plus Japan will also be doing patrols in South China sea along with Americans) also Australians have hinted at such joint operations with US navy. Make no mistake the deployment of such air defense systems and sea patrols are to contain China and they're being successful at it.

So while you can laugh about Iran's problems, The Yankees are coming for you right before your eyes ( flinging their ding dong at you by doing patrol in south china sea right in your backyard ) and they will beat you into submission slowly but surely. Also US hostility towards China will never stop and as a matter of fact will only grow stronger as time passes by because you're competing with them to take their place and they don't like it.

Iran is the last bastion of true stable non aligned state and if the Iranians make a deal with Americans somehow( hypothetically and make peace with people of Israel)and solve all their problems once for all, you guys ( China & Russia) will be the major loser of this.
I can see THAAD system being deployed in Northern Iran to further contain Russia's ability to response and as for China they can forget controlling the waterways in their own backyard let alone being able to extract all the resources below the ocean floor plus all major oil suppliers would be in US camp so no more diversification of your oil import and I bet the Russian will stick a high price for their delivery of oil to you. Time will tell who will have the last laugh

China has had a long history of direct warfare against both the superpowers, fighting the USA + 16 of her allies combined in the Korean War (and pushing them into the longest retreat in US military history), as well as multiple direct conflicts against the Soviet Union, notably during the Sino-Soviet Split. Whatever comes our way we will fight it, it's just business as usual...

On topic: The tank looks very good. I've always been impressed with the rate of improvement of Iranian military hardware, even if they are very much anti-Chinese I still respect their ability to advance their weapon systems like this. Even under sanctions, Iranian military advances are putting much of the world to shame.

Err I am happy for Iran. As a neighbour of Pakistan, I prefer to see a strong and independent Iran. If they are able to indigenously develop military and other equipment, regardless of input from other designs etc, then all the power to them. I agree the title of this thread is a little passive aggressive, but people need to understand that each nation has their own interest above everyone elses' (Except Pakistan, we are the thekhekdar of every one else, but let's leave that for another thread).

You do realize the Karrar is using a T-90 turret or a copy of a T-90 turret? Putting Iranian made IRA blocks on a T-90 turret does not make it a uniquely designed Iranian turret.

The Karrar is basically an upgraded T-72 or T-90 variant. I'm not sure why people here still deny it or get angry and call me names. I don't care if Iran upgrades T-72s or builds some new tank based off of it or designs something completely new but chassis, turret, gun and almost certainly engine are either license produced T-72/90 components or close clones. Some Iranian members here need to calm down, it's just a tank.


The T-90SM influence is undeniable and not a coincidence. I'm not saying that Iran didn't work hard to built the Karrar because there are some unique things on this tank but we have to also be honest.

No is denying the influence the likes of T-90 have had on the Karrar's development. What the likes of Soheil are saying is that this does not in any way means anything is being imported from Russia for this tank. You don't seem to be able to grasp this simple concept.

Of course T-90 has had influence in the development of karrar, but what is important is that this tank is being made completely in Iran and there is no need to rely on the outside.

why doubt it is that good? You do realise Iran is one of the few nations today with actual experience in dealing with tank warfare against modern threats (such as highly advanced ATM's in Syria) etc? All those experiences have gone into development of this tank.
