Iran execution record -Shamefull

This is one classic debate.

Has higher number executions lowered the crime rate?

China is Islamic? We shoot a lot more criminals and though we don't shoot adulterers we do shoot corrupt official (that after all is a non-violent crime just like adultery)

better to be good guests than act like these people.

'These people'?, what exactly is this characterization? Stop over generalizing us Indians. I am getting sick of your whining on everything these days.

eh?
you srsly don't get what he's saying?

"Executions seem to be more rampant in Islamic countries"

what does that have to do with China? China is one country. Every muslim country however is executing in mass.
btw I believe our percapita execution is much higher than China no? Same with KSA

EDIT:

10 out of the top 20 highest per capita executions are muslim countries, most in the ME. Iran is ahead of China.

yes it does
however the Islamic Republic doesn't execute criminals. A lot of the IRanians who are executed each year are political prisoners, adulterers etc...

Thanks I couldn't have read the bar chart without your helpful comment. As a side note, something like 98% of people in China support death penalty, it's our country, our choice.

I'm willing to bet that those statistics are a blatant lie, who in their right mind would support executing drunk drivers or petty thieves? To give you an idea about petty crimes a 19 year old was executed for stealing $7. The Chinese judicial system is also not very fair, so under those circumstances who would support executions when a fair trial and basic rights are often denied? Is it still 68 crimes punishable by death?

People participating in those poles are either very naïve or just plain stupid or those statistics are made up, take your pick.

I like the fact that he quoted "facts and details" a Japanese ultra right website. That's like me quoting a Chechen website for details on Russia. The kid is weaksauce.

"errrr i know this professor...."

And I know god. Am I now omniscient?

It's a common logical fallacy.

The basic structure of such arguments is as follows: Professor X believes A, Professor X speaks from authority, therefore A is true. Often this argument is implied by emphasizing the many years of experience, or the formal degrees held by the individual making a specific claim.

Argument from authority - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Let's hope he's not thinking of pursuing a career in law.
