Well many useless things happen in this world. Let this one be another addition to them. :)

Still many Indian trolling and dream for USA attacks on Pakistan here.

Pakistan show good gestures and allow this stupid chopper return back to India. Hope we can improve our relations and eliminates propagandas by India sides.

. .
it should be ascertained as to WHY this chopper deviated into our territory

it's good that the services are up to task and were able to detect this intruding chopper

after questioning them and IF it is established that it was mistake, they'll be released without incident

Indian helicopter strays into Pakistan-controlled Kashmir

An Indian army helicopter flying in bad weather strayed into Pakistani controlled territory in the disputed area of Kashmir on Sunday and was briefly detained.

In a rare case of cooperation between the two wary neighbors, however, the issue was resolved quickly and efficiently as Pakistan refueled the Indian Cheetah helicopter and allowed its crew to return to Indian territory, all within about five hours.

The Indian crew was reportedly made up of a colonel, two majors and a junior commissioned officer, but Pakistan was evidently convinced the intrusion was accidental after interrogating the crew and finding nothing more than routine engineering equipment aboard.

India and Pakistan, both of which have nuclear weapons, have fought three wars, two over Kashmir, since the countries gained independence from the British in 1947. Seemingly small incidents in the past have blown up into major disputes requiring top political intervention.

On Sunday, leaders reportedly made use of a hotline between the governments. It's not immediately clear whether the navigation error, which occurred as the Indian aircraft was traveling from Leh to Bhimbat, was the fault of the pilot or the equipment. India promised a full investigation.

Chief Pakistani military spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas told Indian news channels that the helicopter strayed 12 miles into Pakistani territory when it was escorted down in Skardu around 1 p.m.

"All the Indian crew members have been released," he said. "The matter has been resolved."

Cheers! All's well that ends well!

Pakistan releases Indian chopper

NEW DELHI: Pakistan released an Indian army helicopter just hours after it strayed across the border between the two countries on Sunday, an Indian defence ministry spokesman said.

The helicopter landed in Indian territory with its four-member crew, the spokesman said.

The army cheetah helicopter, flying from Leh to Bhimbad, earlier in the day, with four officers on board, had strayed across the Line of Control (LoC) and landed in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

Indian army sources said there was no deliberate intrusion by the Cheetah helicopter, which was forced to land in Olding sector near Skardu, about 20 km from the Line of Control(LoC), and that the incident occured due to “inclement weather.”

The Pakistani Army said the chopper was forced to land once it “violated” the airspace over their country.

One Engineering officer of Lieutenant Colonel rank, two Majors(both pilots) and one JCO(technician), who were onboard the helicopter, were taken into “military custody” and questioned by Pakistani authorities.

Less than five hours after the incident, the chopper with all its crew were allowed to return and landed in Kargil just before sunset.

The Director General of Military Operations(DGMO) of India and Pakistan were in constant touch, Army sources said.

The Indian High Commission in Islamabad was also in touch with the Pakistani side, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The chopper was on its way to Bhimbhat from Leh.

Pakistan’s chief military spokesman Maj Gen Athar Abbas in a statement earlier said: “An Indian helicopter was forced to land once it violated Pakistani airspace at 1300 hours today in Olding sector near Skardu. Four persons, including three pilots, have been taken into custody.”

Indian authorities across the LoC had been informed about the incident, Abbas said. The detained Indian personnel were safe, he added.

Indian Army sources said the chopper entered the airspace over *** at around 1320 IST and returned to Kargil at 1800 IST.

Well so called gesture is futile. So  for that

But according to a member on another forum AWACS were also involved. And they worked very good. So it wasn't a fully futile exercise.
