Satkhira situated in north-west corner of Bangladesh, where public with relentless protest overwhelmed Awami League brutal and corrupt state machinery. Since night of 16th Dec, 2013, Indian backed Awami League unleashed terrorizing force of notorious RAB, police, border guards and party terrorist against people of Satkhira. Hundreds killed and thousands home, business and properties were destroyed. Even in 1971 Bangladeshi people has not seen this level of destruction. Even hindus were not spared but typical Awami League and indian media completely ignored those massacre and destruction.

One opposition activist shot dead in Satkhira
RTNN Staff correspondent, Satkhira: An activist of Shibir, the student wing of opposition Jamaat-e-Islami party, was shot to death and several others including a pedestrian injured with bullets as law enforcers opened fire during a clash between Jamaat-Shibir activists and joint force members at Gobindakathi in Sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Hafizul Islam, 27, son of Lokman Ali of the area.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkhira sadr thana Enamul Hoque told that in support of ongoing blockade Jamaat-Shibir activists put barricade with tree logs and bricks on Satkhira-Jessore highway at Jhaudanga area around 8:30am.

Being informed Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members rushed to the scene at 9am when Jamaat-Shibir activists threw brick bats targeting them ensuing a clash between two sides.

Joint forces responded by firing rubber bullets, shotgun rounds and lobbing teargas canisters leaving Hafizul dead on the spot and the pedestrian bullet-hit.

The pedestrian was identified as Haran Chandra Pal, a businessman. He has been admitted to Satkhira Sadr Hospital in a critical condition.

Police arrested 7 people from different places around the area.

You are the one claiming that hundreds were killed, so i asked for source of your claim. Forget the media, i haven't heard hundreds been killed from my cousin who lives in Satkhira.

Awami League killed 40,000 opposition in 1972-1975, 1.5 million in famine in the same period. Can someone please post how many Awami League have killed in recent terms and years - 1996-2001, 2009-2013? I think in 2013 alone Awami League killed at least 500 opposition activists, the real number is unknown (Shapla Chattar).

@ Other than these 40,000, Awami Leaque since March 1971 killed near about 19,000 members of Muslim Leaque, Jamat, Nizam-e-Islam, PDP(Pakistan Democratic Party of Nurul Amin), other members of Islamic oriented Parties and finally who ever found anti-India were killed includingthe Tribal people.

@ Can any one say why the majority people of Sathkhira are anti-Awami Leaque and anti-India ?

@ The answer is most of these people migrated from Calcutta, Nadia and Indian bordering area in 1947, 1949, 1950 and so on once these people were forceably evicted from other side.
@ The same theory applies to Chapai Nowabganj .
