India rightfully enjoys high authority in world: Dmitry Medvedev

The true test of importance is when you can say that an organization is important because it has your country in it, not the other way around.

For example, America is not powerful because it's in NATO. NATO is powerful because it has America.

It's this Indian obsession with prestige that I find revolting. True power speaks for itself. Approval seeking is indicative of a low self-esteem.

.
BRICS is a useless acronym. All BRIC nations carry their own weight, some more than other.

. .
No Pakistani believes in the N-11 or the BRICS, &you never hear Pakistanis harp around the N-11 like Indians do about the BRICs, as if it is some kind of political body or something of authority.

Nobody believes in N-11 . BRICs will be the star economies of this century . N-11 is just a few other tiny ecnomies that may do well also . Hence you don't see much talk of N-11 in the international media.

Very true. Except for US, all nations suffer from this low self-esteem syndrome.

N-11 has just as much credibility as the BRICs has, which is zilch, because it is just an acronym proposed by a failing investment bank like Goldman Sachs.

out of these 11 countries, pakistan is placed in 11th position even behind Bangladesh and seeing there recent records , i am afraid they will be kicked out from this so called group

Where is Pakistan placed in the 11th position? According to what parameter?

Of course Bodyguard i wish we could aspire to people like you. You are on PDF and on a thread titled "India rightfully enjoys high authority in world" yet want to talk about Pakistan's record? Get a grip and act your age and not your shoe size. Either talk about your countries successes but don't knock ours. People that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones? How do sleep at night thinking your land is the supremo number 1? Both countries have huge problems and inadequacies. We have millions of kids that are deprived of simple basic needs yet you want to gloat? I pray one day both countries enjoy high authority in the world

Well, India has been dissed globally for so long that, now that it is finally getting some recognition, many Indians are thinking "it's about time!". To some extent the reaction is understandable, but some people overdo it.

And, naturally, I am not thrilled when they use the occasion to rub salt in Pakistan's current woes.

The more mature Indians are OK, though. It takes all kinds...

Conversely, imagine the opposite scenario. What would happen to the US military operations all over the world without the support, & more significantly, the resources of the NATO?

The US would do just fine by itself. It needs NATO only as political cover -- both domestically and internationally.

at the same time we have middle class population than entire US population..GDP greater than entire Africa, central Asia put together..

poverty rate decreasing year after year and economy increasing more rapidly than no. bomb blasts in pakistan

and link for your 1/3 figures??

and look at Pakistan ...43 % poverty..increasing and increasing year after year ...making to the list of failed state year after year

link for 'india is a failed state'??

your own newspape : Pakistan 12th failed state for the year 2010-2011 Pakistan ranks 12th on failed states index: Report – The Express Tribune

Firstly, Pakistan has 17% poverty rate as stated in the World Bank's report. Here is an indepth comparison of the poverty in India's states in the World Bank's latest 2011 report:

India%2BPoverty%2BWB%2B2011.png

In India, 77% of its total population (836 million) earn 20 Indian rupees or less a day, whereas the international poverty line is 45 Indian rupees a day.

Pakistan is in a temporary state of war because of the WOT, it is a temporary phase, & all nations go through it. Turkey went through it, Britain went through it; but they went past these stages, because they are temporary. Pakistan is one of the most important countries in the world.

Guys. Medvedev said some good words about us; we appreciated it.

Chinese members highlighted about our weapons deals with them:

Yes we do trade with them because they have been reliable suppliers when we needed help the most and the rest of the world shunned us (early era after independence). Throughout they supported us. Hence the continued strong ties with them. We're slower than China in manufacturing which we accept. But we're getting there steadily.

Pakistani members mentioned about man-to-man hatred of Russians against us:

My father being a Soviet educated person, has mentioned many times that Russians never hated anybody in general. They have been very receptive of non-white people as well (all their allied nations were non-white).

After USSR collapse, you got skin-head factions getting popular there adding to the mafia problem. Heck! the country was so corrupt and criminl just a few years ago (even now it is very high, still higher than India in Corruption and Crime index!) that even Russian whites were not safe... you're talking about non-Russians?

And BTW Neo-nazis attack even non-slav Russians of far east Siberia. So? Does that mean all non-whites non-Russians as well as Russians should not be in Russia or associated with them? BTW Russians also get targeted by violent hoodlums in Goa and other beach states here. Still Russian tourists come in droves every year increasingly. Does that mean they severe ties to us?

That's a weird logic there. :what:

You serious!? There's a tiny grocery store near my house here... so tiny that it must be not more than 8'X8'. The owner (the vendor) has the latest LG cellphone and comes in a Bolero. Looking at him, you'd feel as if he's a beggar and won't believe how he's so well off.

Here everyone is seeing cars, and bikes and houses coming up and you're talking about 77% population earning "less than INR20 a day".

The political cover is the most important thing though, because without it, the US has no credibility for its actions. Considering all of the events that have transpired in the past few weeks in terms of the debt limit borrowings, & the diminishing world socioeconomic conditions; you can see that the US serves as more of a hindrance & a problem.

Because thread was hijacked by various Pakistani(Chinese) members. As is the case with any Indian thread.
