High authority is when you become part BRICS ,when you would be requested to loosen up your screws ,so some countries trade with europe.When you lauded and asked to take your rightful place that is permanent seat at UNSC ..Hope you understand high authority.

You're not even a permanent member of the UNSC, whereas little countries like France & the UK are. That's pretty shameful. BRICS is nothing really but an abbreviation/acronym coined by Jim O'Neill in 2001. BRICS has exactly the same meaning as the N-11 countries do, which Pakistan is a part of of course:

I dont think there is any question of jealousy. I believe that India should be more respected in the world it has one of the largest populations etc. However in the case of Russia i cannot help notice that the relationship as some indians said earlier on in the thread seems to be mre or less based on weapon paurchases from russia.

I think that in due course when india resolves its borders with its neighbours hopefully peacefully they will and should get a sec seat on UN etc they deserve it more than UK france etc

India said no to IPI because it has P in it. Doesn't hurt to go beyond Pakistani propaganda. India would never build a pipeline that goes through Pakistan. Undersea pipeline was just too damn costly. US offer came much much later. India had expressed concern way before Bush came to India.

India buys so much energy from Iran. And it will continue to do so in future. But lets be illogical.

India's relationship with the Soviet Union was much stronger... but only because we needed them a hell of a lot more at the time.

Right now, you are correct in saying the ties are more geared towards defence endeavors/acquisitions. I'd rather term the relationship as a "partnership" as opposed to an "alliance" (much like India-Israel actually). I think both countries have realized that neither can influence the other. It's not the way it was 20 years ago when we needed Soviet support to ensure survival and they saw us as a strategic ally. You can almost think of it as two school friends going off to do different things. We'll still remain friends but won't be as close as we once were.

And to be quite frank, I prefer my country to stand alone. I'm not one to believe in any "brotherhood" crap. The only thing I believe in is vested interests.

Lol don't teach me that who's in next 11 .Wikipedia should be kept out of the way man.BRICS is just an acronym given by goldman sach for 5 largest emerging economy which is now much more formally used in WTO meeting or G 20.

Likewise, N-11 is an acronym given by Goldman Sachs for the next 11 largest economies in the world after the BRICS. There is no difference between the significance of BRICS & N-11, because as CardSharp has already mentioned, it is an investment theme, not a political body. The fact that you have the second largest population in the world, one of the largest countries in the world by land; your economy is 1/4th the size of China & nearly 1/10th of that of the US, along with the fact that you are not even a permanent member of the UNSC, which is shameful for a country like India.
