India lobbying hard to give a tactical advantage to the Taliban.

Indian 'South Block' has been running with cash bags to US Congressmen and defense pundits for years in order to block the sale of Attack Helicopters to Pakistan.

Since 2002 Pakistan has been requesting the US for the sale of AH-64D Apache Longbow or AH-1Z Viper as a primary requirement. Pakistan's old AH-1F/S Cobras are handicapped. Their ability to detect and kill Taliban insurgents at night is next to nothing. With dumb rockets and a gun with no credible night ops capabilities it can only fulfill a limited numbers of roles.

Pakistani military officials say that Indians have lobbied so hard to block the sales of these copters that they added provisions in their own Apache purchase that Pakistan won't be sold this capability even when its direly needed in the full knowledge of CENTCOM and Pentagon. The Indians ditched Mi-28E and angered Russia for keeping AH-64D or AH-1Z away from being sold to Pakistan.

Pakistani officials are of the opinion that the insurgents attack checkposts at night and Cobras can't operate effectively at night. Microwave milimeter radar, motion sensor integrated, thermal, infrared electro optical targeting turrets along with integrated avionics, Datalink and HMS are the core requirements for effectively tracking and killing the Taliban at night and day.

Pakistani experts believe that India is lobbying so hard to give Taliban, which is its proxy a tactical advantage over the Pakistani forces. The US has refused to sell both Apache and Zulu due to Indian lobby. They are even trying to block the sale of US made Turboshaft engines to Turkey, which wants to sell its T-129 ATAK gunship to Pakistan which has similar capabilities to AH-1Z and Apache.

Pakistan needs to make it clear if the US is going to clear those gunships or engines for Turkish gunships. If the US wants to toe the Indian line and give the animals who massacre our kids a tactical advantage, we should opt for Mi-28NE from Russia and cease all counter terrorism cooperation with the Pentagon and Langley.

BS Taliban is India's Proxy what were you thinking while writing this thing

So much nonsense, half truths and blatant lies within one article.

1)IF India was lobbying to prevent an Apache sale to Pakistan it wouldn't be the to give any sort of edge to the Taliban but to prevent these advanced weapons posing a threat to India's conventional military supremacy- nothing more. Let's not live in a make believe world- most of Pakistan's arms purchases and weaponry are aimed at INDIA and NOT at the Taliban. (arguably something like the Super Tucano is FAR more effective in COIN ops but why has the PAF not acquired anything like this but are buying more F-16s??)

But if India has somehow included a clause in their AH-64E buy that this helo won't be sold to Pakistan (I doubt it)- good for them! This is the kind of games India needs to start playing.

2)The notion that the Apache in Pakistani service would somehow be the turning point in the "war" against them is as laughable as the notion that it is the only helo out there with such capabilities. The Mi-28 also has Microwave milimeter radar, motion sensor integrated, thermal, infrared electro optical targeting turrets along with integrated avionics, datalink and HMS. Why hasn't Pakistan purchased any of these? Oh that's right, you can't afford it.

3) The T-129 doesn't have the same capabilities as the T-129 (no Microwave milimeter radar) so that is patently false.

Stop painting Pakistan as some hapless victim being bullied by evil India, it is neither true nor can it be doing your national identity any good. Boo hoo you weren't given the latest generation of American gunships (most likely on aid), poor you. Stop trying to spin this as some evil Indian plot and then to take it one step further and make out this is India handing some sort of advantage to the Taliban,please...........

This logical reply surely deserves a positive rating btw why can't they use money they are using for F-16s on these much needed Gunships

Can it help in detecting human size targets?

Nope. Asel Flir 300T which is used by T-129A already has that capability. Future T-129A/Bs and Anka UAV will use the newly developed Asel Flir 235 CATS which is even more advanced than 300T.

MILDAR:

The MILDAR Project spans key radar technologies in millimeter-wave band. Among these technologies, the main ones are target acquisition, tracking and classification, carried out in a Pulse-Doppler mode. In additon to that, there has been a large amount of work being carried out in various system functionalities such as SAR, ISAR and terrain profiling. Eventually, the System is planned to be employed for various mission goals of attack and tactical reconnaissance helicopters.

The main features of the Ka-band millimeter wave radar are:

  • High range and azimuth resolution
  • Multifunctional system:
    • Surveillance and multi-target tracking
    • Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Mode
    • Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) Mode
    • Terrain Profiling Mode
    • Detection of stationary and moving land & air targets
    • Target classification

because of your help and sabotage which you are proud of
and in the same breath you cry foul when Kashmiri militants attack your forces in Kashmir? you are indirectly giving credence to people like Hafiz Saeed who has come out of nowhere and justifies attacking India through gorilla warfare.

Two things.

First, we don't cry foul when they attack millitry, our Forces are more than capable of dealing with those scum bags. We have a problem when they attack innocent pepole.

Second, Mukthi bhani were diluted soon after the war was over and more importantly they did not went into Pakistani soil and opend fire on civilians unlike lashkar and other terrorist organizations operating from Pakistan. Please give a rest to this argument of yours.

Because of your states wrong judgments in history and adopting sucidals policies, your nation is where it is now. Please check the weight of the argument you are presenting and stop replying for the sake of replying....

WHAT tactical advantage to TALIBAN can be given by India by exerting pressure on USA to not sell Apache?

More than the advantage given to them by the Pakistan politicians and judiciary ?

Ability to attack at night.

Your imagination is wild

India is supporting Taliban.

And india is putting pressure on USA not to do something.

YOUR GIVING INDIA TOO MUCH CREDIT.

ps are TALIBAN Pakistanis or Afghans I,M CONFUSED

.
Any source for this or just your own imagination.

Even if India does lobby to prevent sales of Apache gunships to Pakistan, how does it prove that we are supporting terrorists. Apache is a very potent system and can be used against us in case of a war so why shouldn't we try to prevent its sale.

So are you denying the lobbying being done by India? But I don't blame India, after all it is an arch rival of Pakistan no matter what India says, action speaks louder than words. Pakistan must look for next best alternate to these systems, with a long term plan of developing indigenous systems.

All of Pakistan's problems originate in India.

India funded Russia to create the Afghan Taliban which Pakistan allied itself with. India foresaw the Afghan Taliban being accused of a major terrorist attack on the US, the US threatening to bomb Pakistan to the stone age and Pakistan then having to lose its stranglehold over Afghanistan which cost it so many lives. Shrewd Indians.

India created the TTP, funds it and is therefore the cause of Pakistan's headaches including the 16/12 massacre. Shrewd Indians.

India was the cause of the recent political turmoil in Pakistan by funding certain agitators to cause political instability. Shrewd Indians.

India is responsible for Pakistan not being able to successfully negotiate with the USA (by paying off US senators with "bags of cash" :D) purchase of attack helicopters thus safeguarding their TTP assets in Pakistan. Shrewd Indians.

India is responsible for corruption in Pakistan, most probably by paying Pakistani authorities to be corrupt. Shrewd Indians.

Did I miss anything ? :undecided:

Indians created Indus Water Treaty and annexed Kashmir to advance its designs of controlling water supply to Pakistan. Recent floods as well as the ones in 2005 were the handiwork of RAW. Shrewd Indians:woot:

I totally agree with the topic poster. Without these new helicopters, taliban will have a tactical edge over pakistani forces because pakistani forces have only got F-16s, JF-17s, cruise missiles, 500k army, Alkhalid Tanks. These are no match for the taliban. And without those ~dozen helicopters, the entire pakistani army will be finished in a week and then RAW controlled Taliban will take control of Pakistan. Then India will launch full scale war in name of "war on terror" and then conquer all of subcontinent and make a hindu empire.

All of this because of lack of a dozen helicopters. Which India is responsible for.

Shame on India, how low could a country get. Pathetic right ? ;)

India lobbied hard against the Block52+ sale but it didn't work. There were Indians who staged protests in the US.

Because it is clear for everybody including Indians to see, if you really need Block52+ or Apaches to fight AK-47 toting talibanis! By that logic, would an Air Craft Carrier or a Nuclear Submarine help you better fight the Taliban?

You know it, we know it and they know it too - Talibans are just a facade; the real target of all those fancy weapons is India. And even if you want to fight taliban, you are anyway going to spare the 'good' taliban and the groups targeting India. So why shouldn't Indians protest any such weapons transfer to an enemy country?

The comparison is hollow. Not that you have to agree. East Pakistanis outnumbered West Pakistanis. They only demanded equal rights and democratic rights but their culture was mocked, their faith questioned and they were systematically exploited economically. B'desh was born due to West Pakistani intransigence - India merely cut the umbilical cord.

My question remains - India is no longer in B'desh - if they have such religious affinity toward you, why don't you two re-unite? You are two sovereign states - why don't you even today offer them - one citizen, one vote?
