India in R6,000-crore JV with Russia for BrahMos’ air version

How is it hypersonic if it only travels at mach 4?
Terminal velocity is always greater than cruise velocity, and terminal velocity is 5.5 m......thats hypersonic..

But yes all doubts cannot be settled today,we have to wait for more info to appear..

When you have doubts how can you claim it.

I am not in doubt,i done my search/research but you guys ask for source and currently all "sources" are in Chinese language...wait for english language "sources" to appear and all will be clear.

Oh cool man ...when did you learn chinese and did the research stuff.

Post the Chinese sources then we can use Google translate and can get the bare info through it.

No first you tell me who is the chick in your profile pic...Shes hot :D

On topic..
This is not a "True" cruise missile unlike Brahmos which is a "True" cruise missile...so yes we can give some credit to Brahmos on that..
But its based on a well tried and tested "Guided rocket" system SY-400..In fact its an upgraded and tweaked form of SY-400.
sy_400_l7.jpg

SY-400 (China) - Jane's Strategic Weapon Systems

Now compare this picture with below picture

so accuracy should be better than SY-400

Wait the above article doesn't say anything about its speed or range.

. . .
But yes all doubts cannot be settled today,we have to wait for more info to appear..

Then you should have waited for some more infos, before running around and creating these blame games (especially as a Jr TT!!!), because then you might had understand that the missile is nowhere comparable with Brahmos!

The Janes article posted by fatman17 states:

...It hits the target at Mach 4 or above and its kinetic impact alone is enough to destroy any high-value target

...The CM-400AKG is a 400 kg solid-rocket-powered weapon..

...The range of the CM-400AKG is understood to be in the 180-250 km class. It is designed for use against fixed or what were described as "slow moving" targets. CASIC data indicates that after launch the CM-400AKG climbs to high altitude and terminates with a high-speed dive on the target. The PAF describes the missile's impact velocity as "hypersonic".

All the above shows that the only comparable feature is, the final attack speed, that makes it difficult for defence systems to counter them, but Bhramos has this speed in the full flight envelope, to longer ranges and with much higher effect as well!

The chinese member itaskol made that clear also:

in chinese news here.
the max speed is 5.5 mach.
and can destoy radar on ship in anti ship mission.

but it can not destroy an aircraft carrier.

It's similar to the AAM comparisons with Meteor, because they also reach high speeds, but only for a limited time, while the Ramjet propulsion provides Meteor the advantage to sustain these speeds. The result is a higher impact and much kill probability than current gen missiles.
So similar speed at a certain time, doesn't make the missiles equal!

@sancho Looks like you didnt read the three dozen or more comments i made on this subject......
Brahmos is an air breathing missile (Hole in the nose tells it,doesn't it)..This one has no air intake so a 5 year old can say it cant be air breathing, has to be Solid fuel...
Now you tell me which motor is faster....Air breathing or Solid fuel?
Always the solid fuel motor is faster?

Once we had established this,we can go ahead with discussing other aspects.??

Now about speed claims? All claims come from an interview which again is in chinese but Cinese members who understood the lingo said so...Here

and here

My input on Brahmos VS CM-400 can be read Here

I never siad its all the way powered as it cant be,and i never said its a true cruise missile,as By definition a cruise missile should have all the way powered flight following a "Non parabolic" path..But this one will follow a mix of both..Parabola and straight and the final dive.

About accuracy, fire and forget and options of various seekers and warheads..a member already posted an article Here

That's actually is the problem! I read many of your posts, where you act like a kid, just to provoke others, based on very basic infos and personal belives.
The only good post of them was the one that I quoted, where you admited that there are points you don't know yet and that's totally ok. There is nobody on this forum that knows everything, but there is a lot of infos available to learn and just. So reading and posting one good post with infos to compare both missiles would have been the better idea, instead of wildly posting around.

P.S. I have no need to discuss this issue with you at this thread, but I want to stop this blame gaming about my missile is better than yours...
