India in R6,000-crore JV with Russia for BrahMos’ air version

So_What.jpg.scaled.1000.jpg

If any Indian member acted like you guys, talking about the Bhramos on the JF-17(or any other thread) they'd have their posts deleted and be given infractions/bannings.

Yup,agreed...the thread isnt about CM-400.
Please continue with Brahmis duscussion..

Disappears *kapooof*

Our quick reaction prahaar also reaches Mach 7.5.. what's the big deal.. the only issue is it has to a cruise missile..not a ballistic one or even quasi ballistic !!

That man was one developer of the missle
20 years ago, china had made Hypersonic missles C101(2 Mach) and C301(2.5Mach), but find Hypersonic missles are bigger, heaver, short range, easier detectability, then to the west style C802....
now with the development of engine, fuel and ammunition, small hypersonic missles came out, also another hypersonic missle C-805

Since when is Mach 2 termed hypersonic. Can you please throw some light?

If class is not a matter of concern but speed, why on earth was Shaurya(Tactical Missile) not considered for discussion? Come on guys, speed has its own virtue, but the speed becomes a fear factor only in missiles like Brahmos.

Indian Missile Defense Shield can intercept Ballistic missiles which travel at much higher speed. :D

brahmos is a stealth cruise missile. so no need to worry about is speed. Mach 2+ is more than enough for it. but we are going to induct our hypersonic missile after 2017 only.

Hell Agni V reaches Mach 25 in terminal phase

Yeah..
Agni cannot be mounted on a plane .
You guys are only making yourself sound stupid by writing this type of comments...

Oops,i said i wont comment on this thread any further...didnt i?

Nope your post made this thread looked like a joke section.. since you guys started it first so i joked in return

500km? you have no idea what you talking about read first post carefully.
Bottom line is PAF have better missile now with the speed of 5.5 mach while India is gonna spend another 1.1Bil$ to get this tech lol

"The integration of the navigation systems from Kh-555 will turn BrahMos, a supersonic cruise missile, into a “super-rocket” with almost a sub-strategic capability above its normal tactical range, capable of hitting targets over 300-500 km, from sea, land and air launchers, and capable of being armed with a nuclear warhead, the source said"

India modifies Brahmos missile with new navigation system | The Freepress Journal

Even the poster claims only the missile to be supersonic.

How come Mach 5.5 become supersonic ??

You talking about CM -400AKG ? A 60s and 70s soviet Tech though. Even They phased out their variants like Raduga-KH 15 ,KH 22, also US used to have one too called AGM-69 SRAM, but now all are phased out and relics now. So nothing to jump around.....

Well I see nothing but a attempt to match Brahmos :coffee:

Guys, since we are on the topic of this new missile that Pakistan has procured from China (regardless of the authenticity of the claims) and its implications as far as our aircraft carriers are concerned, does our aircraft carriers have any defense mechanisms to counter such a missile? In another forum, I read that Barak 8 had intercepted Brahmos (doubt this piece of information), so could the Barak be a suitable candidate to be installed on aircraft carriers against such a missile? Answers will be highly appreciated.

PS: I apologize for being off-topic.
