India in R6,000-crore JV with Russia for BrahMos’ air version

Its a JV, we both gonna use it and will make it to PAK-FA/FGFA.

Air launched such weapons are very costly.

Its very important for us to know how to play with Technology we learn from russian and to develop our own version with more range and air version why we should develop with russian and give them 50% profit when we can keep all with us ,it makes no sense.see what pakistan did with Babur they modified it for ALCM raad with 400 km range .

We should also not forget the russian help here.. (The biggest scum of the earths are ingrates.. it is understood who we are talking about ) and they gave us a platform whose strengths can be extrapolated and India did it..

Guys, since we are on the topic of this new missile that Pakistan has procured from China (regardless of the authenticity of the claims) and its implications as far as our aircraft carriers are concerned, does our aircraft carriers have any defense mechanisms to counter such a missile? In another forum, I read that Barak 8 had intercepted Brahmos (doubt this piece of information), so could the Barak be a suitable candidate to be installed on aircraft carriers against such a missile? Answers will be highly appreciated.

PS: I apologize for being off-topic.

Little correction : interceptor missile was Barak-I . navy was using previous generation brahmos version .
But no official confirmation

Russian are not helping us in charity they are taking top dollar .

CM-400s range is not more than 100km as per few sources. I have doubt regarding the Mach 5.5 figure
too. The old Soviet Kh-31 had a terminal speed of Mach 3.5, IAF already has it I think.

However its foolish to say Kh-31 and CM400 are better than PJ-10.

100-240 KM. Operational speed 4 mach. Maxium speed 5.5 mach. Missile weighs 900 KG and is used for land and sea targets. For sea targets a radar seeker is fitted in the missile. A missile travellin at 4 - 5 mach can easily create a big hole in any aircraft carrier. Missile is operational on JF-17.

So how is this missile "superior" to the Bhramos as your fellow countrymen have been claiming?

low cost...
less complicated..
higher speed..
lighter and a small aircraft can carry 2...
multiple options already available for seekers, guidance and warheads.
tried and tested as developed from an already in service system
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST..

IS IN SERVICE...NOT SOME UNDER DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM WHICH WILL BE COULD BE DEPLOYED IN SUCH AND SUCH YEAR ON SUCH AND SUCH PLATFORM WITH ELEVENTY CAROR RUPIAH EXPENDITURE.
