India calls for UN Security Council reforms this year

Easier said than done.. That was just a metaphor.. World does not work on aspirations but ground reality
Exactly, and the ground reality is that there is always some Unhappy P-5 member in your favor to use his Veto, IF you have enough influence on that Nation. So, I do not think that India definitely needs that chair, If we get it, it would be bonus for us, But i do not think that we should hope for it too much, because one thing is clear that no matter what, there is going to be a Veto on this proposal.

P.S. Is there any way to bypass Veto?

US I don't trust ... and China is also shady

You dont trust, or USA dont trust on India,

Germany and Japan will vote whichever way America tells them to vote.

Why would Russia and China accept that?

We have used our veto for far less, the Syria resolution for example. It meant nearly nothing to us, yet we still went against the warnings from the US and NATO and vetoed it anyway.

Then Brazil for sure.

.
Why .... 3 of the 5 nations are very much pro-India. US we can turn around ... and china atleast to neutrality ... even if that does not happen it won't get worst than today :D. The system suits us ... and we will make it favorable to us .... just like the NSG.
Yes, the system suits you so just go about. Why shedding crocodile tears by making statements such as "the undemocratic stranglehold of the privileges of a few". Because you are not yet the part of it, it is "the undemocratic stranglehold of the privileges of a few", and what you will say about it once you become the part of it? Amazing level of...

If territorial dispute disqualifies a nation from getting a permanent seat in UNSC then China should lose its permanent seat.

China is already a member.. There are no disqualifications.. Only rules for admission or to be precise near impossible rules

The other way is to become so strong that UNSC becomes irrelevant without India participation.....Thats the long game and we surely have the potential.... while Brazil, Germany and Japan are saturated.....But that needs a lot of hard work....not Commies like Kejru and co.

Nope.. Veto power is absolute.. What kept the world from descending to disaster in the cold war era was this veto.. If there is a way around it would have happened

Munafiq-ness ??? .... welcome to the real world....

There are no rules ... my friend

First ,India by no means is a top economic and world power , second, China won't support India's request to join the security council.

Veto can be used for any reason, see how we vetoed the Syria resolution despite the US and NATO warning and threatening us not to.

So if you have any problem with us at all, you can just veto without giving an explanation.

Well you could if you had veto power. But you don't, in fact it is the other way around.

This is one post of your i partially done agree upon. Why to bring kejru into discussion? He is doing his kind of work and people of delhi have supported him..you have no reason to bring him into national debates.

Ok... but I tell you his clique is the biggest obstacle to our country ... and that is no secret. Kejru is a symptom of the disease that has been eroding india from the inside.

Agreed 100% ... you either have veto or not....rest is just dribble.

If countries are so scared of India then definitely India is doing something good.

I dont see any instance where in P5 are using veto so frequently thus making security council a playground for P5. I am sure each of these countries discuss among themselves about all the issues bought to the table and only in rare occasions they use VETO. So all the countries in P5 are mature to consider India;s participation.

Also I am sure diplomats hvae done their homework among themselves and with other P5 nations. These strong statements indicates they have their own timelines and they now how much support they have before going public.

I have no problem. Someone said that India has all reasons to be a permanent member in UNSC except for its territorial dispute with China... So i hope you understood that territorial dispute can not be a reason since China too has disputes.
