India calls for UN Security Council reforms this year

They have to dilute, because international pressure on P5 is tremendous.

But I dont think there is any chance of India, and it definitely be Germany, most suited for western diplomacy.

Nah.. The status quo will remain.. Russia will not let Germany take a foot hold, Neither will China

Germany and Japan will vote whichever way America tells them to vote.

Why would Russia and China accept that?

We have used our veto for far less, the Syria resolution for example. It meant nearly nothing to us, yet we still went against the warnings from the US and NATO and vetoed it anyway.

.
Indians,Germans, Japanese and even the Brazilians have been making claims for years now.. This is just the latest.. Nothing will happen.. If the rest of us are keyboard generals and E-badasses, Then what does that make you ? A internet pussy ?
a) While the claims have been always made , this is a very strong worded and direct claim with timeline etc. Maybe they had a talk with P5 as this year has been diplomatically intense and india engaged with all P5.
b)We don't care about others ... we care about only our interests.
c) How did you deduce I am a 'pussy' ... lol ... atleast have some logic to your insults  ..

.
I don't understand this. Could somebody please tell me substantial advantage of having UNSC seat other than using Veto every now and then.

Just that the power of Veto, How do you reckon the US holds a iron grip in Middle Eastern Affairs they have struck down over 60 UN resolutions against Israel.. Same goes to Russia, In Syria, Iran.. It's the power to control the world or atleast your interests in it.. Nobody in thier would want to dilute that power.. Remember these five countries got these positions by being on the right side of history.. WW2.. It will take another WW to change the status quo

Most probably nothing is gonna happen ... at least this year.....but I am sure the diplomats are not making this claim without some sort of 'goal'

.
... arguing the most-powerful body of the United Nations itself embodies the undemocratic stranglehold of the privileges of a few, forged by a wartime alliance that no longer exists.
Yet being impatient to become the member of the club of five. If India is so much concerned about the "the undemocratic stranglehold of the privileges of a few", she should ask for the abandonment of this.

I didnt deduce that, I just went on with your argument.. People commenting here without trolling do have some kind of knowledge on the subject if not they will stick to one of those many silly shit throwing threads.. So your ridiculing the discussion was belittling your intelligence and ours

I don't think WW3 is needed for that. A multi-polar world could do that.

.
If US stubbornly wants to drag in pro US countries namely Japan, Germany and India. China will call on dissolution of UNSC completely, and US will lose all its power in UN.

Easier said than done.. That was just a metaphor.. World does not work on aspirations but ground reality

. .
Realistically it's a slim chance given India has territorial disputes with both China and Pakistan.. If not there would'nt be any other arguments against it
If territorial dispute disqualifies a nation from getting a permanent seat in UNSC then China should lose its permanent seat.

Why .... 3 of the 5 nations are very much pro-India. US we can turn around ... and china atleast to neutrality ... even if that does not happen it won't get worst than today :D. The system suits us ... and we will make it favorable to us .... just like the NSG.
