What's new

India backs off, withdraws Visa to Uyghur terrorists!!

It should not have been provided the visa in first place..... Now that they have withdrawn, I hope the objective is achieved........

If the visa was not provided in the fist place, how could the objective be achieved ?

After the Pakistan debacle, I wouldn't trust this govt blindly. They are capable of such blunders. Let's wait and see.

What pakistan debacle ?

Absolutely agree, I can't believe they would be fools enough to buckle down without any gains. If that is the case then it is a monumental blunder as it would leave all of India's future actions and words worthless

If they had to buckle down without any gains, why would they even issue visa in the first place ?

@PARIKRAMA @JanjaWeed @ranjeet @MilSpec @Mirza Jatt @Abingdonboy

I cant understand why ? But if this is done without any concession India would look more stupid than the UPA times

Why would you assume its done without any benefit to India ? if it was done, it was to gain some leverage on the political table and on going talks.

Clearly the gambit worked. The very fact that we first spoke of the visa and then have decided to withdraw it speaks of a successful strategy.

OP is just too carried away with the news. India wouldn't have gone for it had it seen no benefit and you should be worried about the news rather rejoice. We would soon hear on China's corrected stand in the UN on the terrorist. There is no free lunch of course.

It was the right strategy, let's hope they haven't withdrawn it without getting anything in return. If it is a unilateral withdrawal under pressure then that's a blunder.
Going by the pusillanimous attitude which this govt has displayed so far, i wont be surprised if India backed down for gratis. :tsk:

I wonder what the Chinese offered in return....
Thenga!
Chinese are very good at negotiations.

Bingo. No free lunches.

Not for Indians, and not for the chinese.

Dolkun has visited Taiwan.
So?

Modi is afraid of retaliation of some kind.
Veiled threats must have been issued.

That would be funny because at the swearing-in ceremony for Narendra Modi, the Tibetan ‘government-in-exile’s’ Lobsang Sangey was invited.

Wont be surprised if the visa was cancelled without any quid pro quo,,,,but i am sure the Chinese got the drift
