INDIA APPROVES $3.2 BILLION PURCHASE PLAN TO BOOST NIGHT WARFARE OF ARMED FORCES

.
Don't post your brainfarts, kiddo.

Every major historian including United States department and library of US congress agree that India was on top during ceasefire:

Most of these assessments agree that India had the upper hand over Pakistan when ceasefire occured. Some of the neutral assessments are mentioned below —

The war was militarily inconclusive; each side held prisoners and some territory belonging to the other. Losses were relatively heavy—on the Pakistani side, twenty aircraft, 200 tanks, and 3,800 troops. Pakistan's army had been able to withstand Indian pressure, but a continuation of the fighting would only have led to further losses and ultimate defeat for Pakistan. Most Pakistanis, schooled in the belief of their own martial prowess, refused to accept the possibility of their country's military defeat by "Hindu India" and were, instead, quick to blame their failure to attain their military aims on what they considered to be the ineptitude of Ayub Khan and his government.

  • Devin T. Hagerty wrote in his book "South Asia in world politics"[117]
The invading Indian forces outfought their Pakistani counterparts and halted their attack on the outskirts of Lahore, Pakistan's second-largest city. By the time United Nations intervened on September 22, Pakistan had suffered a clear defeat.

  • In his book "National identity and geopolitical visions",[118] Gertjan Dijkink writes –
The superior Indian forces, however, won a decisive victory and the army could have even marched on into Pakistani territory had external pressure not forced both combatants to cease their war efforts.

In three weeks the second Indo-Pak War ended in what appeared to be a draw when the embargo placed by Washington on U.S. ammunition and replacements for both armies forced cessation of conflict before either side won a clear victory. India, however, was in a position to inflict grave damage to, if not capture, Pakistan's capital of the Punjab when the cease-fire was called, and controlled Kashmir's strategic Uri-Poonch bulge, much to Ayub's chagrin.

  • In his book titled The greater game: India's race with destiny and China, David Van Praagh wrote[8]
India won the war. It gained 1,840 km2 (710 sq mi) of Pakistani territory: 640 km2 (250 sq mi) in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan's portion of the state; 460 km2 (180 sq mi) of the Sailkot sector; 380 km2(150 sq mi) far to the south of Sindh; and most critical, 360 km2(140 sq mi) on the Lahore front. Pakistan took 540 km2 (210 sq mi) of Indian territory: 490 km2(190 sq mi) in the Chhamb sector and 50 km2 (19 sq mi) around Khem Karan.

  • Dennis Kux's "India and the United States estranged democracies" also provides a summary of the war,[120]
Although both sides lost heavily in men and material, and neither gained a decisive military advantage, India had the better of the war. New Delhi achieved its basic goal of thwarting Pakistan's attempt to seize Kashmir by force. Pakistan gained nothing from a conflict which it had instigated.

  • "A region in turmoil: South Asian conflicts since 1947" by Robert Johnson mentions[9]
India's strategic aims were modest – it aimed to deny Pakistani Army victory, although it ended up in possession of 720 square miles (1,900 km2) of Pakistani territory for the loss of just 220 square miles (570 km2) of its own.

  • An excerpt from William M. Carpenter and David G. Wiencek's "Asian security handbook: terrorism and the new security environment"[121]
A brief but furious 1965 war with India began with a covert Pakistani thrust across the Kashmiri cease-fire line and ended up with the city of Lahore threatened with encirclement by Indian Army. Another UN-sponsored cease-fire left borders unchanged, but Pakistan's vulnerability had again been exposed.

  • English historian John Keay's "India: A History" provides a summary of the 1965 war[122]
The 1965 Indo-Pak war lasted barely a month. Pakistan made gains in the Rajasthan desert but its main push against India's Jammu-Srinagar road link was repulsed and Indian tanks advanced to within a sight of Lahore. Both sides claimed victory but India had most to celebrate.

  • Uk Heo and Shale Asher Horowitz write in their book "Conflict in Asia: Korea, China-Taiwan, and India-Pakistan"[123]
Again India appeared, logistically at least, to be in a superior position but neither side was able to mobilize enough strength to gain a decisive victory.

Conflict resumed again in early 1965, when Pakistani and Indian forces clashed over disputed territory along the border between the two nations. Hostilities intensified that August when the Pakistani army attempted to take Kashmir by force. The attempt to seize the state was unsuccessful, and the second India-Pakistan War reached a stalemate.

As for the mountain capture here is a nice article by former Northern Army commander Lt Gen; which details how Indian Army crossed, 2 Km into Pakistan and captured P5310.

There is no point in discussing with that idiot. Leave him. The only good thing is there was a surrender ceremony on 1971 else they would have claimed won like Surgical strike. lol

Both fake articles. Look up their order numbers to judge.

IA has purchased 2000 Akash missiles on about 20-30 systems. It replaced their 80s tech SA-6 which was in similar numbers. The Israeli QRSAM is a different class from Akash. IAF also operates the SPYDER QRSAM along with Akash. Akash is categorized as an SRSAM, which is different from QRSAM. For example, Akash has a 55Kg warhead while the warheads on SPYDER is 11Kg and 23Kg.
One was from official Japanese Nikkei and another from TOI, hmm really fake news indeed. What I heard was DRDO forcing these half baked 'advanced' missiles on the Army to show to the world an 'indigenous' product.

Incorrect again. Russia said they can't induct the ship based Brahmos because they can't afford to make the changes on their ships. Recently, they have devised a new hypersonic cruise missile, so they don't need the Brahmos on their ships. But they are interested in the airborne Brahmos and the modernized Brahmos.
But the Brahmos had been in operation for so long, and Russia is only 'interested'? You see a pattern here? Every single shit Indians can't do they claim joint development to get brownie points.

New ammo requirement, 7.62x51 mm. If an Indian company can supply it, well and good. INSAS is 5.56x45mm.

Butthurt has many languages, but the feeling is the same everywhere.

Your childhood memories awakened?
Then why not produce a new version of INSAS? Hmmm then what does the article below say? LOL...you guys are seriously living in denial. Go dance dance bollywood and imagine you are rolling in Swiss Alps now....Jai Hind!
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/...-red-zones-with-aks-cites-insas-as-defective/

Importing NVDs are since long a declining trend, IA is in fact using local companies.
Why show you the pictures? Clearly to upend bias and to show haters that they don't like to be dealt when their BS is caught.
The only complex I see is a slowly shattering superiority complex.
So many pictures again, one simple question, then why is the Army importing when there is so many super duper manufacturers in India? World class indeed.

Fake articles are picked up by other news agencies and reprinted. Numbers don't lie. 2000 missiles for the army.

Haha. Brahmos has multiple variants, and some are not ready yet. The ones that are ready, the Russians cannot afford or have no interest in. Plus, the entire production capacity was taken over by the Indian armed force.

Heard of Barak-8?

There's nothing wrong with Insas. There's a lot of vested interest in the system. All you have to see are the orders placed, that gives the best idea. News articles are all led by lobbyists.

Insas was modified and a new rifle is available called Excalibur. Limited orders will be placed because of the change in ammo.

http://www.janes.com/article/65209/ia-to-induct-excalibur-as-interim-assault-rifle
The Indian Army (IA) plans to temporarily induct locally developed Excalibur assault rifles into service until it shortlists a 7.62x51 mm rifle for import over the next few years, sources told IHS Jane's on 24 October.

In fact, IA had stipulated such stringent requirements that not even one global company could successfully fulfill all parameters. As of today, only DRDO has a rifle that could fulfill all of IA's requirements. That's the MCIWS.
7_img118216121558.jpg

But IA has made a doctrine change, so this rifle will have to be modified. And of course, it will have to compete with the best available in the world.

Same story with bulletproof vests. Not even one global company could fulfill IA's requirements.
Again, only DRDO is making a vest that fulfills all of IA's requirements for a vest.
https://indiandefencereview.wordpress.com/2016/04/02/indian-army-to-get-50000-bullet-proof-jackets/
An earlier tender for the “capital procurement” of 1.86 lakh modular jackets was scrapped in October 2015 because the samples offered by six vendors “failed” to clear field trials, as was first reported by TOI.

However, when the samples failed to meet requirements, the Army vice-chief’s existing financial powers were “relaxed as a one-time exception” to ensure the urgent purchase of 50,000 jackets based on older technical specifications. “The minister and Army vice-chief Lt-General M M S Rai pushed to expedite the entire process,” said a source.

The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has now come up with a prototype bullet-proof jacket, as per the newer technical specifications, using different “state-of-the-art ballistic materials”. This under-development prototype aims to protect against AK-47s and self-loading rifle bullets.

“The prototype has successfully undergone stage-1 and 2 trials. It will be a contender in the fresh capital procurement case being initiated again for the first lot of 1.86 lakh jackets,” said a source.

So even global powerhouses are unable to keep up with IA's requirements.

Simrad makes night sites for both US Special Forces and the Norwegian Armed Forces, so I'm not sure they'd throw their hat into an Indian tender or not, but they've a lot of experience making night optics.

Rheinmetall Air Defence was banned for corruption in India. So Simrad's chances are possibly quite low.

It's actually the other way around. The higher echelons are happier with the result of the strikes and the effective use of the equipment. That's why they want more of it to use on both sides of the borders.
Proof please...otherwise stfu.

The most funniest thing done by Pakistan Military hiding behind civilians and say what surgical strike, there was no surgical strike happened.
The most funniest thing about indiot army hiding behind one billion other civilian indiots and claiming surgical strikes and yet fail to prove then tried to make fake video and caught red handed in iok. Come on indiots more jokes please.

I think in your tumescent need to reply you didn't quite read my comment or maybe didn't want to.
Again, that trend is long gone and local manufacturers are the ones doing the selling.

Enjoy denial.

.
Every Pakistani is utterly wrong.....
Facts are weitten all over.
Since the hugely successful and dramatic surgical strikes india has lost 51 balavan sainik and Pakistani Shahadat were no more than a dozen.
The grand success of those strikes is evidenced by the "3.2 billion dollar fact" of inviting RFI for hitherto non existing NVD in the market.

Yeah yeah, but the facts are different. No civilian structures around Indian Army Posts. But there are plenty of Civilians and civilian structures around Pakistani Army Posts. Before saying us as Idiots, better as your Army why it is there ?? to Save who ?? People ?? or them ?? and decide who is who by yourself. But the world already knows it.

World does not revolve around one billion indiots, the villages there exist from pre partition and its their land, tell your coward army to stop killing innocent unarmed civilians.

I am repeating myself, the latest tenders are showing all foreign manufacturers and yet you are saying the trend is long gone?

India had lost 51 soldiers in militant attacks and cross-border firing since it conducted the "surgical strikes" on terrorist launch pads inside Pakistan.

Maybe due to using 'super duper advanced' Indian stuff? LOL

Beginning this month, the Indian Army has already invited global bids for NVDs for long range LMGs and Uncooled Thermal Imager based Driver's Night Sight with fusion technology for the Russian-origin T-90 tanks. The Army requires the range of detection of a human target at minimum 1000 meters.

However, the recently floated RFIs are considered highly ambitious. "The type of technology is not available in India.

No they are not.
All RFIs for 7.62mm Light Machine Gun (II) and (TI) which end by Feb 2017 welcome both Indian and foreign vendors.
IA already buy products from Tak technologies and BEL has sold over 10000 NVD to them.

Maybe due to using 'super duper advanced' Indian stuff? LOL

Not available in India? LOL

These are just opinions.
I already showed you and can show you again some of the Gen 3 MilStd 810 complaint NVDs available in India which are being bought by different countries including the western nations you sooo want the approval of.
But I guess your refusal to accept this fact is a result of your desperate need to see us fail and severe denial which is clearly not working out for you.
Specially when people are continuously popping your bubble.

Yes we won 65 and you got beating of lifetime in 1965. Yes we lost 1971 and we haven't forgotten it and would take revenge. As for Kargil well I also used to think that India won Kargil until I came to know that Pakistan is still sitting in Kargil in fact on two highest peaks. Kargil now seem to be your biggest embarrassment. We send 500 guys most of them were Jihadis and you brought 40000 soldiers along with latest Artillery and MRLs and Fighter Jets still failed to get all the peaks back if you consider that victory !!! than I can do nothing about that. And in 2002 you lost around 2000 soldiers without even fighting any major war. So please grow up

You lost 65 and entire world knows it and yes we lost 71 and entire world also knows that and ask your mighty Army that even after using 40000 soldiers and Fighter Jets and Artillery along with MRLs How come Pakistan still controls two highest peaks in the region and yes you Indians have been reading distorted history for past 70 years

Okey first of all clearify me few facts according to your Distrauted history books:
1) Who initiated Operation Gibralter?
2) What were its objectives?
3) How much of it Pakistan accomplished?
4) Who lost most territory?

Lets see where your intellect stands on above matter. :coffee:

About Kargil:-
1) Who sneaked in to the mountain tops?
2) Who had the advantage of heights?
3) Who disowned its own soldiers?
4) Who was exposed by its own larger than life friend?
Last but not the least, what the hack you acheived by holding onto a mountain top which is dominated by three peaks from Indian side. Answer is simple.
