India and Pakistan need to reunite like Germany and Vietnam: Markandey Katju

Non-stop fighting is only in your mind man.

I'm being realistic here. Pakistan and India still fight all the time.

Both historically and in the present, millions of Hindus and Muslims live together in peace.

Not historically, and even now, there is much conflict and difference between the two communities.

.
No Pakistani will ever allow this to happen, keep dreaming you obsessed wierdos

.
sure, let's "reunite". Make it the Pakistani flag, enforce the Pakistani constitution and call the entire subcontinent PAKISTAN...we'll reunite, no problem. 8-)

Former Judge, Supreme Court of India Markandey Katju said that Aman ki Asha is living in a fool’s paradise and deceiving people. The campaign launched jointly by two large media houses, the Jang Group of Pakistan and the Times of India Group of India aims at improving relations between India and Pakistan, and help secure peace in the region. It runs a portal amankiasha.com. Former judge twitted, ‘Aman ki Asha is living in a fool’s paradise and deceiving people.’

In his article written for Pakistani Stories, Katju writes, “While ostensibly its (Aman ki Asha) aim seems laudable, and indeed it has done some good work by promoting some people to people contact between Indians and Pakistanis, which helps to some extent in dispelling the notion that people living on the other side of the border are devils, nevertheless, in my opinion, its basic approach is flawed, and in fact it serves to deceive people.”

He said “India and Pakistan (and Bangladesh) are really one country, sharing the same culture, and were one since Mughal times. Partition in 1947 was a historical British swindle, on the basis of the bogus two nation theory ( that Hindus and Muslims are two separate nations ), which was the culmination of the nefarious British divide and rule policy of making Hindus and Muslims fight each other.” He added, “Pakistan is a fake, artificial country.”

Stressing the need to reunite India and Pakistan, Katju asserted, “It is really part of India, only temporarily separated, but is bound to be reunited with it, like West and East Germany or North and South Vietnam (though that will take time because those who divided us will not let us easily reunite.)

NOT HAPPENING..................Different race, religion, culture and heritage to indian people............there's more chance of Pakistan becoming a part of Italy and Germany than becoming a part of india........

Not possible most of the people would be racially different to Pakistanis and will not resemble us.

. . . .
I hope those Italian brothers recognize their long lost brothers living in South Asia. :D

But there is the same if not more chance of Pakistan becoming a part of Italy then there is of us becoming a part of india. Neither indians nor Italians have ANYTHING in common with us Pakistanis but the Italians are NOT our enemis. indians are.

. .
People aren’t united by similar culture or what same foods they eat or what languages they both speak lol. They are united by ideology. If they weren’t a lot of Canada and the US would be together.

Take a stance, don't jump from point to point. Such boring excuses, you're in South Asia, not Europe. Deal with it. And when you go outside South Asia, your identity is Pakistani, not Italian DNA, German DNA etc...

Also, we have many things in common or loosely related, such as food, dressings, some customs, but then again, there are diversities among Indians too. Even Pakistan is not a homogeneous country which comes to the point, which side of Pakistan you're talking?

They are united by ideology.
If that was true, then there wouldn't be an Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

If they weren’t a lot of Canada and the US would be together.
Technically, the head of state of Canada is still the Queen of England, right?

Such boring excuses
At the end of the day just one thing matters, which is that a overwhelming majority of Pakistanis are simply not interested in becoming part of a unified Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.

As I mentioned earlier, the best one can hope for in the long run is increased trade and people to people contacts between India & Pakistan.

The feeling is mutual. And I have mentioned the economic perspective (which is the most important given we are known to have handled diversity among people better, not the economy).
Three poor countries, becoming united makes a bigger poor country not to mention the densely populated Bangladesh vis their lack of resources, along with Pakistan, another resource starved, water stressed country. Add to that our own issues with respect to water and resources.
