If Allah(SWT) sent the Mahdi next year, would you follow him?

Salam, agree with you we have what we need. That does not disvalidate the appearance of the Mahdi. He is not a savior in any sense in Islam. He is regarded as the rightly guided Caliphs are like Abu Bakr(RA), Umar(RA), Ali(RA), Uthman(RA). So nothing is going to be saved, Muslims will have to make an collective effort together at that time. It just requires a qualified leader basically. Everything will be the same, we will all have to observe tenets of Islam and try to be sincere as possible in hopes that Allah will grant mercy on us after we die.

Salam, again, the concept of "rightly guided caliphs" is neither mentioned in the Holy Qur'an, nor in Sahih Hadith

LOL... No... Absolutely not...

All religions are man made.

Good night..

Fake ones are easy to recognize, majority of the time they try persuading people to follow them for years. Real one will not be known to anyone except in Mecca at the Kaaba when scholars will find him and press him to accept leadership. Also there will be an dispatchment of battalion from 'Sham' region that will be swallowed by earth on their way to Mecca, among other signs.

Salam, I'm not entirely sure on 'fard' but I believe scholars suggest it is and some ahadeeth point to so. He is not savior or messiah. Allah will help him restore Islam in Muslim world right before final major signs. To be honest it is probably Allah proving to mankind how he can change conditions on earth and raise a righteous peoples out of a time where it seems impossible.

Basically once it becomes apparent that the scholars and Ummah agreed on him, and the conditions were met. At that point we have to follow. If we just decide not to for rest of our lives even thought conditions are met then yeah it becomes a problem there.

I don't think Bukhari, but possibly Muslim. There are other hadeeths and scholars have agreed on it's 'tawatur' and agreed it is real and will happen. Some older famous scholars and modern ones, like Ibn Baaz and Albani have suggested so as well.

Is the Mahdi real or not?

The ahaadeeth concerning the appearance of the Mahdi reach the level of Tawaatur in meaning (tawaatur refers to a hadeeth which was narrated by so many people through so many isnaads that it is inconceivable that they could all have agreed on a lie). The imaams and scholars of this ummah have stated this, and a few of their comments are quoted below:
..
..

You should be aware that some liars have fabricated ahaadeeth about the Mahdi, and others have even claimed to be he, or that he belongs to a group other than Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaaah. Some of these "false mahdis" have tried to deceive the slaves of Allaah for some worldly gain and to distort the picture of Islaam. Some have started movements and revolutions and gathered those people and supporters whom they were able to deceive. Then they were destroyed, and their lies and falsehood were exposed. None of this affects the belief of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaaah in the Mahdi, upon whom be peace, and that he will undoubtedly appear and rule the earth in accordance with Islamic Shareeah. And Allaah knows best.

Well, to be honest, I am not waiting for anyone. But yes, muslims should start thinking..

While there is nothing explicit in Bukhari, there is 1 hadith in Sahih Muslim worth noting:

-"We were in the company of Jabir b. 'Abdullah that he said it may happen that the people of Iraq may not send their qafiz and dirhams (their measures of food stuff and their money). We said: Who would be responsible for it? He said: The non-Arabs would prevent them. He again said: There is the possibility that the people of Syria may not send their dinars and mudds. We said: Who would be responsible for it? He said this prevention would be made by the Romans. He (Jabir b. Abdullah) kept quiet for a while and then reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) having said there would be a caliph in the last (period) of my Ummah who would freely give handfuls of wealth to the people without counting it. I said to Abu Nadra and Abu al-'Ala: Do you mean 'Umar b. 'Abd al-Aziz? They said: No (he would be Imam Mahdi).

The words "Imam Mahdi" in parenthesis were written by the original translator Abdul Hamid Siddiqui as you can see in the link. There are numerous hadiths in the other books of the Sahih Sittah (Sahih Tirmidhi, Sunan Ibn Majah etc) that do specifically refer to an Imam Mahdi.

Yes other religions have a similar concept regarding an end times-savior but then the other religions have a lot of other amal similarities too such as fasting for lent (Christianity), praying towards a particular direction (Judaism), tawaf around a Holy site (paganism similarity) and that doesn't imply that we should not do or practice our version of those similar concepts, similarly if other religions have a concept of an end times savior it doesn't negate the fact that Islam may have one too.

As pointed out by Dr. Shabbir, The dogma of a promised one is found almost in every religion of the world.

When the Messiah of the Jews comes he will bestow upon them the everlasting kingdom.

When the Messiah of the Christians shows up again, mankind will unite under Christendom.

Likewise when the Meeta, Buddha II arrives he will erase all religions and turn every human being into a Mahatma.

The Mithra of Zoroastrians will herald the return of the lost Maggian glory for his followers.

The "Kalki Avtaar" will revive Hinduism to total victory.

The Tri-Thanker of Jainism will unify all human beings on earth into his religion. Then all people will become Bugs Bunnies eating plants only.

It is amazing to note that even some ancient tribes of Africa and the Americas charm themselves with this "redeemer" concept.

Our Imam is Qur'an, we already have it . All we need to do is to follow it. The Holy Qur'an says that Allah will not change the condition of a people unless they change what's in themselves(13:11). Instead of borrowing concepts from other religions, we should follow Qur'an.
Allah (SWTA) did send messengers to all nations from among themselves, with Prophet Muhammad (SAW) being the seal of the prophets.
