That kinda sucks for the IAF pilot. I heard pilots that have ejected from a jet likely cannot return to flying forever because of permanent back injuries. A crappy old jet ended a trained pilot's career. Expensive.

Are u hinting towards the same for the Pakistanis when they claim Su-30 kill .. or you have a different standard?

The claim of the SU-30 MKI kill by the PAF and the F-16 kill by the IAF don't belong in the same stratosphere.

1. The Indian claim was that Wing Commander Abhinandan shot down the F-16. All of the missiles aboard the Mig-21 bison were found (none of them being fired) and were on display which nullifies the claim altogether right there. If that doesn't do it for some, analysts from the international community which favor the Indian narrative all the time categorically claimed that the Indian F-16 claim was false. Christine Fair did that, in public, and on the face of the Air Chief BS Dhanoa no less. You can't get any bolder.

2. The PAF claim was a BVR shot (an AMRAAM shot to be particular by an F-16 on a SU-30 MKI). Pakistan has it's own evidence as to what they saw that day and claimed the kill. What is certain is that shots on SU-30 MKI's by an AMRAAM were taken, and even IAF accepts the claim by the narrative of the "AMRAAM Dodgers".

Hence, it would be intellectually dishonest for our friends in the east to claim that both the claims belong in the same category. If you want to deny the kill of an SU-30, it's up to you. Certainly the normal poster around here, even the more senior ones or TT's aren't carrying any evidence around with them.

However even if one were to say that since there is no hard evidence of an SU-30 kill, the rest of the scorecard reads:

1. 5 soldiers killed.
2. 1 POW
3. 1 chopper down
4. 1 Mig-21 down.

All belonging to the IAF.


Coming back to the topic however, IAF did seem to put the Mig-21 crashes on hold for sometime, but it seems that the trend has started again. A replacement doesn't seem likely any time soon considering the numbers of the Mig-21's in service with the IAF.

But Indians could never produce a single image for their claims of Surgical Strike, or downing an F-16. No wonder why!

Yes, search and rescue becon onboard the aircraft transmit specific signal, that code must be provided to the satellite to pick up signal from that aircraft.

Otherwise you have radar imaging sats who move over the areas to take pictures to locate the aircrafts. In both cases, Sats take days to locate aircraft wreckage, enough time for Pak authorities to collect all the wreckage and carry to store house on a pick up truck.

Looks like the pilot is injured. Just wonder why Indian Mig-21's have so many crashes each year, more than those are still flying from other countries.
