IAF backs down on Indo-UK exercise 'claims'

.
What is the sense of opening a thread on this except to start a flame war. Sure someone shot off an off the cuff remark, which was publisized by the press, the British got peeved off and reported the matter to IAF which has set the record straight. So who wants to argue over the airmen OF ANY AIR FORCE not being cocky and the pressmen not exaggerating a remark. Live with it, boys will be boys and the press is a whore for a story. Mods can we please shut this thread before it gets out of hand

RAF Eurofighter Typhoons 'beaten by Pakistani F-16s'-RAF Eurofighter Typhoons 'beaten by Pakistani F-16s' • The Register

Before barking check your facts it may save yourself the embarrassment, unlike the embarrassment that followed your chest pounding 12-0 claim
Imagine what are blk 52s could do. Furthermore, blk 3 jf-17s will have new engines, Aesa radar etc. We should send the JF-17 to the next Anatolian Eagle.

Slight matter of this actually never happening anyway.
Just one wee small point:

Reading the Ex Anatolian Eagle website, the Pakistani Air Force attended AE04/ 3, AE06/2, AE07/2, and AE08/4. The RAF has only turned out to bat at 07/2, sending 14 Squadron, which /was/ equipped with.... wait for it.... Tornado GR4!! Typhoon didn't make an appearance at Anatolian Eagle untl 2009.

So the PAF F-16 topguns managed to 'shoot down' aircraft which weren't even there! Much like the story, really.

Except the IAF (cocky fighter jocks or otherwise) has made no such "off the cuff remarks". The RAF are losing their minds over A SINGLE report.

This is more than a little suspicious on the RAF's part IMHO.
big mouth indians :disagree:

No no, you have got it wrong- it is India and the IAF, they are chest-thumping big mouths (even if they don't actually say anything).

Well, there was no need to start this thread had jingoistic Bhartis had not gone berserk over that stupid off the cuff remark. I mean 12:0, is this even logical? The Brits were flying WWII spitfires or what? .

Nothing much ...... It has been the case with fan boys on both sides....... One trying to prove other is useless and the other party doing the same....... The pleasure of scoring point is beyond your imagination....... So this will go on

No off the cuff remark was made, now you guys are going berserk over what ONE REPORTER said?

So you mean to say, all these articles, threads and chest thumping are attributed to one reporter, hardly sir.
Some in the IAF have a habit of bragging, like in an earlier exercise, going against protocol and boasting to the media on shooting down a Tornado or two.

Flanker fury: How the Sukhois blanked the Typhoons 12-0 in British skies | Russia & India Report
