What's new

I t is time to pronounce the Trans-Pacific Partnership clinically dead.

We were treated as low class citizens?:o: Chinese merchants were bosses and employed Vietnameses as slave labor with corrupted Vietnamese government approval...before communist Hao formed an elite society dominated Vietnamese economy...LMAO you're so funny that like to twiste the fact and reality.
emperors in ancient China treated merchants as low class people. on top of social ladder was mandarin teachers. that is a fact. many of chinese merchants came to Vietnam, seeking home and business. Vietnam is liberal. nowadays many chinese businesses in Singapore or Penang or Indonesia have their forfather roots back in Vietnam.

I wonder that I have to educate you in history.

Also @Viet I have a question.

You know like in these "Vietnamese" things or places and they put Chinese characters on there does it mean it's Hoa? Like you know in some pho shops I think they slap Chinese characters over everything to give it more of an "East Asian" and "exotic Asian" feel to it. So is that indicative of a Hoa place or not?

And yes I'm aware about Chu Nom and Han Tu but most Vietnamese can't read it
in order to understand Chu Com, you must master Mandarin.

chinese characters and language were in use for 2,000 years, so it is not a major thing seeing them in VN.

and overseas. here in Little Saigon Philadelphia

Uh ok yeah but I'm asking you, do you know if the Vietnamese shops with Chinese characters on it are owned by Hoa people or Kinh people? I am just curious because I thought Vietnamese can't read Hanzi. So I was thinking maybe they are Hoa owned shops?

Oh ok thanks

But how is this a stupid question. You're Vietnamese so you would know.

Do you prefer I consult with non-Vietnamese next time on Vietnamese issues? Next time I won't ask you then. I will deliberately have consversations about Vietnam with Chinese members and reject your inputs.

I laughed out hard and choked on the milk i was drinking when i read 'nowadays many chinese businesses in Singapore or Penang or Indonesia have their forfather roots back in Vietnam.'

The forefathers of the ethnic Chinese in Singapore, Penang(and the rest of the Chinese in Malaysia) and Indonesians hail from the 3 coastal provinces in China: Guangdong, Fujian and Hainan- just like how the Vietnamese themselves were.

Please don't twist history favorably to your own.

If you also count manicure studios as middle to upper layer, sure.

So it's also true in Germany too?? All the nail salons are dominated by Vietnamese here too. It's a big money making business here.

They settled down in Hoi An, small seaside town in central Vietnam, before moving to other places in Southeast Asia.

Pretty sure Hillary will push forward the TPP, no matter what she says during the elections. She's an experienced politician who plays realpolitik and she knows the implications if America can't ratify the TPP. Why do you think Obama goes around other Asian countries and reassure them that the TPP will go through if he's not confident?
Most likely Hilary will not win. TPP is dead.

If it aint' dead now, the Donald will kill it because it's bad for America

Viet is messed up. In N America there are laws that when you open a shop you must also include an English name. So his list is not correct.

Most polls show Hillary will win. Trump will probably get slaughtered in a general election which consists of a lot independents.

If Hilary win, get ready for conflict in your region of world.

Exactly. Donald Trump is a troller and got caught by lying. Hillary Clinton will push TPP through the Congress. I think Vietnam and Singapore should form a bilateral economic pact to maximize the advantages.

Yes You can laugh at the $8 billions. That is the yearly revenue of nail business in America. Also Vietnamese monopolize the business nearly 100 per cent in Germany.
