1.2.3 ..... Go the wet dreams continues ,Its just funny how Indians love to compare Teja with Thunder ,by the way there is no comparison to even block 1 as One is accepted and inducted infact doing SEAD/ First A2A confirm Kill and ADA duties the other still is having faith hanging down the thread .

.
Really Joe? I found the article itself smooth with
an almost imperceptible stance ... or conclusion
and was expecting few answers except by kids.

And now with that answer of yours, we might not
even know who was right,

Oh well, good day old mate and all, Tay.
Small minds and all that goes with it

Its an insult to the 100+ inducted JF17s that it is even being compared to the tejas

I found it amusing, on paper Indians have always claimed Tejas to be superior but in reality things have been different.

You can argue the article is from 2015 but if you read it full you will know despite best efforts it will not be possible to get the advertised specs from the existing model hence the extensive work for the MK-1A model and not a MK-2.

You are conflating the fact that Tejas does not have the proper specs with Tejas not being able to compete with say JF-17. Two very separate topics.

As for the existing model, only 40 Tejas will be of the Mk1 variant while 83 will be Mk1As.

P.S. The most malicious event that delayed the induction was when 2 contracts were concluded by MoD before the IOC and FOC designs were even frozen by ADA.
So it was not due to "despite best efforts" as you say but typical bureaucratic bs that hindered Tejas' development, lest ADA and HAL would have completed the process a long time ago.

Minus the radar MK-1A will be comparable to JF-17Blk-2.

Tejas already employs a HOBS capable HMDS and a RSS quadruplex FBW, even the current JFT doesn't have these and will only be available on blk3.
Apart from the AESA, the Mk1A will have an improved EW suite and will be 1000kgs lighter.

Infact even the Block-2 can get the AESA update since according to a Chinese member post KLJ-7A AESA is designed with modular upgrade of existing KLJ-7 radars in mind, so older units can be updated too with replacement of antenna and other components while still using same cooling and power load.

That seems suspect.
AESA radars are known for their power consumption and severe cooling needs.
A pulse doppler KLJ-7 having the same power and cooling needs as a competent AESA, that just seems highly unlikely.

I think you're being rather hopeful.

Then there is the fact that it is now widely acknowledged that the existing Tejas does not meet it's advertised performance specs, whereas the JF-17 does. The MK-1A variant is intended as a rectification to meet the specs required it will not be a improvement of the outlined specs. Whereas the JF-17 is a operational jet with 19000+ hrs and 100+ units able to perform at its advertised specs and in its third iteration for improvement of specs.

Again, two very different issues.

And thirdly in my opinion I no longer consider Tejas and JF-17 as comparable since. JF-17 is more similar to Grippen. Tejas endurance at combat load 59min Vs JF-17 3.5hrs. They are totally different in this regard. You can put the Tejas on as many steroids as possible but the fact is the Tejas design doesnt have the room for drastic improvement, hence the need for repeated foreign tenders for make in India.

This news is absolute horse $hit.
There's no reliable source that claims so and if the Tejas were that deficient IAF would have spared no time proclaiming so to every media house out there.

This news had come right after the single engine fighter deal was cancelled, apart from this nonsense the original news article had also stated that the tejas needs 20 hours for maintenance after a sortie which was proven wrong only a few days ago.

You can not accept points it's your choice but the facts are a reality. Only reason it's being inducted right now is for training and SOPs. MK-1A has alot of catching upto do.

Didn't hal ga e similar Rosy timeline for orginal tenS look how quagmired it got ;)

HAL has missed many deadlines and will miss many more . I am sure that they will miss many more but when ur armed forces will accept that product, It will be exactly as per their requirement. Our ALH rroject delayed a lot but now IA and IAF are proud owner of LAH and it works exceedingly well and does that work for us which none our Imported choppers are able to do. So, definitely delay is a concern but getting a indigenous product exactly as per our requirement is a big plus point that everybody should appreciate.

It always had potential but the incompetency in india resulted it becoming a joke leta hope the current gov properly run the program.

Generally our capability is perceived to be increasing the leaps and bounds but it seems a joke to those people who are unable to develop a 100 cc moped engine on their own. Rest of the people appreciate our growing technological competence.

Tejas MK1 will lose a good amount of f weight and it will be more aerodynamic. It will have some amount of more fuel. Tejas will carry more weight , Its transsonic acceleration shall improve by 20% so as highest speed. Tejas will become a very nice plane in its MK1A avatar and shall easily be able to handle F 16 block 52 and all chinese planes.

What I liked about JF 17 is that it is not just electronics and Helmet mounted display which is coming in Block III. New engine is also proposed so as some minor design change so JF 17 as a platform is also improving which I was advocating for a long long time.

Its an insult to the 100+ inducted JF17s that it is even being compared to the tejas

There is a large difference in the standards of both the air forces,
What is the best plane of PAF - F16 Blk 52,
Leave F16, PAF Inducted JF17 Block 1 Block 2 in large numbers which is inferior to F16 Block 40

IAF was offered F16 Block 60 ANd was rejected because it was not meeting certain parameters.
So for an Airforce having access to resources which can make Rafale / EF to compete for induction, the bars are set too high.
That's why even though Tejas Mk1 is more capable than Jf block 3, it is struggling to get the clearance.

Beggers are not choosers they will induct whatever thrown/ rejected by the master,
And those having resources will make the best to compete (EF, Rafale, F16-60) and chose the best,

.
These comparisons from Indian side are becoming silly.

Following is latest development regarding JF which is rubbing its shoulders with top of the line western jets as we speak.

Tejas first needs to show up before such comparisons can be made.
If u keep your eyes closed for any longer it will even bomb u and u wont even know and then u will claim India used a stealth aircraft. But knowing ur kind i say position would be on the lines that *india cant make a stealth aircraft itself so they leased some from US*.
Open ur eyes and look around.
