How should PN counter the IN Carrier Battle Group

In current weapons your best shot is 4 JF-16 each loaded with two CM-400 getting as close to Carrier as they can and firing them. Even if one hits on right spot if not sink it would put he AC out of action for a year at least
Kya hogya hazrat ,,, JF17 ,,, not JF-16 ...

Sir we do not have any reilable evidence of purchase of CM400 AKG

Limit your views to this..!!!

If their naval airforce is anything similar to their regular airforce, we need to suss them out and destroy them upfront. A saturation attack with standoff H-2/H-4 and/or cruise missiles will rattle them into motion. Once in air, they should be sitting ducks against BVRs. This should be accompanied with spoofing decoy drones to shield friendly forces from SAMs. We need to play to our strengths. IF we can achieve aerial supremacy in the air, it is a matter of time before their surface ships crumble.

Interestingly, our P3C Orion's will not have fighter cover because no plane is available with enough endurance. This has been a strategic oversight. And it means it is doubly necessary to achieve air supremacy. I am sure some of the Su-30s will be employed in the naval theatre as well. I don't see P3Cs being used deep into the naval theatre. India's strength is its submarine fleet which would be unchallenged if it launches K4/5 from thousands of kms. And even the regular ones will go unchallenged without air cover for our ASW assets.

If the carrier sinks, imagine what would happen to the morale of the ships accompanying it :omghaha::omghaha:
Hence the standoff missiles. It's a big target and cannot be missed on any radar. Fire multiple rounds 200 miles apart; from the flank too. Anyway; Indian's are not going to field it knowing well it can be sunk. Phattu hain.

What about Harbah anti ship missile, we can use multiple strikes of Harbah along with may be naval version of Babaur cruise missile to attack Indian Carrier group, immediately followed by strikes of JF-17 loaded with two CM-400 & F-16s loaded with harpoons & Augusta submarines targeting them through torpedoes stealthily from underwater. And meanwhile PAF carryout suppression missions separately against IAF, in order to deny IAF support to Indian carrier group.

I mean combining our firepower effectively to gain maximum effect in favour of us.

INS Vikramaditya is a modified Kiev-class aircraft carrier which entered into service with the Indian Navy in 2013.

Originally built as Baku and commissioned in 1987, the carrier served with the Soviet Navy and later with the Russian Navy (as Admiral Gorshkov) before being decommissioned in 1996.The carrier was purchased by India on 20 January 2004 after years of negotiations at a final price of $2.35 billion. The ship successfully completed her sea trials in July 2013 and aviation trials in September 2013.

She was commissioned on 16 November 2013 at a ceremony held at Severodvinsk, Russia. On 14 June 2014, the Prime Minister of India formally inducted INS Vikramaditya into the Indian Navy.

INS Vikramaditya is going to be escorted by at least 2 Destroyer, 2-3 Frigates/Corvettes and around 1-2 Submarines, combine the aircraft carrier with all these ships and you get a very effective fighting force.

INS Vikramaditya is part of Western Fleet therefore it is primarily deployed to contain a Pakistani aggression.

Destroyers, Frigates and submarines accompanying the carrier are more than capable of sinking enemy submarines and surface vessels.

INS Vikramaditya could launch Mig-29K to take out key ground facilities, airports and military installments or it could help IAF by attacking Pakistani fighters/interceptors from rear.

Destroyers and Frigates are also capable of launching Surface to Surface missiles, combine it with MIG's stationed on board the INS Vikramaditya and a little help from IAF, the carrier battle group is more than capable of destroying the entire enemy military infrastructure within hours.

Use a few Babur cruise missiles and this aircraft carrier will be out of its working condition.

Gone are the days of naval invincibility.

We are not living in WW1.

This is 21st century.

The current capacity of PN does not allow us to counter the threat of IN as a whole. Our strategy will be fully defensive one with missiles placed at coastal areas to deny enemy entry in our waters to attack our installations. PN will need support of PAF to counter IN CBG which following its offensive defensive doctrine will dare to target the BG through air. our FACs and other ships will engage enemy warships near or in our waters while our Subs will be tasked to carry out attacks at Indian installations.
This will pretty much remain the same even after the future inductions... When war breaks out, we will use all of our offensive crafts to inflict maximum damage to the Indians before the conflict escalate to nukes...

Sir what is the feasibility of using/training SSGN commandoes in carrying out sub surface anti enemy asset attacks againt Indian Navy vessels??

I know that the British Special Boat Service carried out such attacks against Kriegsmarine vessels in WW2

Although they did not have sub surface transport for commandoes in those times and had to use camouflaged canoes. But in modern times such sub surface crafts to transport commandoes is now available in modern times. For example:
Seal delivery.jpg

Also there was a mission in Call of Duty MW3 where a team of US special forces carry out a similar mission against an enemy Russian submarine.

In this situation we can also employ our midget submarines. As AFAIK we r in process of making a new design together with Turks.

The midget submarine will get them in proximity of the target vessels and then using a delivery vehicles or sort of personal under water scooters the PN seals can place explosives(heres the caveat as I don't know if PN Seals are in possession of such potent under water explosives or not) and commence destruction of enemy carrier battle group.

Each Harbah should carry some decoys. 100kg out of 450kg can be sacrificed from the warhead. I would wager you could squeeze in 2 50kg rocket powered decoys whose payload is only electronic equipment that mimics Harbah's radar signature. The missile could deploy these decoys 10km from target. The idea is to present many more targets to the IBGs defenses. A barrage of 10 Harbah's is now 30 targets instead of 10.

Yes, a generous detection range for sea-skimming ~40 km but if the missile you were tracking suddenly split into three some 10 km away from you, you now have to engage all three.

I think with nuclear submarines India has addressed the threat of submarine attack ... The real threat to CBG is a missile that can outpace or outmaneuver Barak 8 ... I think CM300 AKG can do the job but we have not yet purchased and I dont understand why ...

Lolz ,,, that was hilarious ...

Sir you are active after a long gap , where have you been ... No comments on current military clash between india and pak ...
Israil won't give anything to India that would threaten China...

China is vying to be a Super Power with super finances.....

Beni Israil love finances more than anyone or anything else in this Dunya as per the KITAP. And, they love to be with the Super Powers....

bribe with Bobs and Vagane ?

On topic, I agree with what Oscar said in other thread , take out 1-2 Ships that are escorting the AC and rest will turn and flee .
Sub-continental natives fight with "Elephants". The conquerors coming from the other side of the Hindu-Kush fight with fast charging "horse men", coupled with sharpshooters and "mobile cannons" in a flanking fashion!!! You opt for the strategy/tactics/weapons etc. of the winners....

Fast super computers have produced fast mouths for your mortal enemies, not fast hands...

Fast hands come only with infinite patience to undertake painstaking training, and sharp executions while on the razor's edge....
