I like the Mainland movies the best now, especially the more "serious" dramas.

Taiwan movies are good for "entertainment". Hong Kong movies are also great for fun, but I prefer more serious and meaningful movies.

I remember HK used to make better movies when I was younger, now not so much.



In terms of music, maybe.

HK's movies and dramas were better in 1980-1990s.

However, it has simply failed to reform the entire industry.

Some HK serie actors/actresses are doing fine in Mainland others get criticized for being gold digger but performance is rubbish. If you look at movie stars, Tony Leung, Donnie Yen are doing pretty well.

Like TerranMarine said, a lot of HK actors and actresses, movie directors and producers are simply jumping across to the Mainland.

Mainland movies tend to have better "quality" (especially the serious ones), and also a much larger audience of 1.3 billion people.

That's how we'll be competitive. Already, the best and the brightest Mainlanders are competing to get in to HK, go to HKU and you will see how many successful and competitive Mainlanders we have attracted to boost our city.

No doubt that democracy kill Taiwan, and HK as well.

The best system for China is Chinese own ideology. The closest to it, the greater they are.
